The roster was revealed on October 25 and the five previously played together under the name MAJKL. The squad, while under the old name, finished fifth in the Counter Logic Gaming Blitz Open Cup.
The old roster, but under a new team name, C9WHITE, will get to show off its skills in the upcoming Valorant: First Strike tournament hosted by Riot Games on October 26. This will be one of the first qualifiers for the event. Right now, all eyes are on First Strike as it's the first tournament series for Valorant that's directly ran and produced by Riot Games.
A mix of skill and marketing is at play as esports strive to be more inclusive and widen their appeal to more audiences. It would be fair to say that esports is a sausage party for the most part and it is long overdue that this boys' club opens to a more diverse player base. Women defiantly have success in other aspects of the gaming industry such as design, publishing, streaming, content creation to only name a few, so it is no surprise that this also continues in esports.
