Guild Esports, the esports organization co-owned by David Beckham, has announced its entrance into the Valorant pro scene by signing Bonk.
The number of Valorant events has dropped in the past month as the Ignition Series ended. It wasn’t long before Riot Games revealed the next big tournament with First Strike. The first big Valorant event organized by Riot themselves. It’ll officially start in November and the finals are scheduled for early December. This information quickly attracted interest in the Valorant scene.
Guild Esports Enter Valorant
David Beckham joined the world of esports in 2019 with Guild Esports. The latter began competing in Rocket League earlier in July this year and now they’re aiming at Valorant. Just the other day Guild Esports also revealed that the company made a £3.6 million deal with a tech firm. The name of the tech company will be revealed later, on November 22 during an event.
Guild Esports joined Valorant by signing over the entire roster of Bonk. The team has been competing in Riot’s title for over half a year and they’ve shown some good results for that time. Multiple second places in various tournaments meant they were often just a step away from the title. The roster consists of:
- Malkolm "bonkar" Rench
- Yacine "Yacine" Laghmari
- Leo "ziz" Jannesson
- William "draken" Sundin
- Filip “goffe” Gauffin

As we’ve already mentioned, despite being an unsigned team for months, Bonk were able to outplay many other teams including Ninjas in Pyjamas during LVL Clash 2.
Executive Chairman of Guild Esports, Carleton Curtis commented:
Joining the Valorant community is a perfect step for Guild and we are delighted to expand into the new exciting and emerging esports space. Valorant is destined to become a major esport with global reach and deep fan bases, and it benefits from the prestige of being developed by best-in-class publisher Riot Games.
Guild Esports will be competing in Europe where the Valorant scene has been completely dominated by G2. Will they be able to dethrone the French powerhouse?
