For the bigger part of 2020 G2 Esports were the undisputed Valorant team in Europe. Things slightly changed after the conclusion of First Strike in December and in 2021. The recent qualifier for EU Stage 2 Challengers 2, G2 showed us they still got it.
The Valorant Champions Tour is almost ready to start with the Stage 2 Challengers 2 event in Europe. The start of the tournament in the old world is set for this Thursday, April 15. We already have the list of teams for the big event after the end of the Stage 2 Challengers 2 open qualifiers, where G2 Esports dominated anyone in their way.
G2 Overwhelm Heretics and Vitality
Just like any other team that wants to make it big, G2 Esports had to go through the Valorant EU Stage 2 Challengers 2 open qualifiers. In the round of 16, G2 faced another fellow Spanish esports organization - Heretics. Let's not forget that Heretics was the team that defeated G2 in First Strike and took the title. The series ended with total dominance in favor of G2.

Heretics were the penultimate challenge in the qualifier for G2, and the final test was Vitality. The French team is quite popular in CS:GO, but they still haven't shown any great results in Valorant so far. Despite that Vitality managed to take a map against G2 Esports only for the latter to do a reverse sweep on them. The series concluded with a 2:1 for G2 Esports as the Spanish organization secured a spot in the Stage 2 Challengers 2.

When is the Valorant EU Stage 2 Challengers 2?
The eight teams will soon clash as the EU Stage 2 Challengers 2 is set between April 15 and April 18. There'll be no group stage, so expect a jump to playoffs with direct elimination. All games will be Bo3 except for the grand final (Bo5). The total prize pool sits at €35,000 and the winners will take more than half of it. Which team are you rooting for?
