Eight of the teams for the closed qualifier are now clear:
- Fnatic
- Team Liquid
- FunPlus Phoenix
- Acend
- Guild Esports
- Ninjas in Pyjamas
- Team BDS
- Team Vitality
As expected, only some of the biggest and most successful Valorant teams get an invitation for the closed qualifiers inStage 3 Europe Challengers. Fnatic and Team Liquid were preset at the Stage 2 Masters in Reykjavik. Team Liquid took fourth place after losing to Fnatic in the lower bracket of the events. Fnatic went even further than that by defeating NUTURN Gaming and trying their best against Sentinels in the grand finals. In the end, Fnatic took second place.

With Fnatic and Liquid placing so high in Reykjavík, it was made clear that Europe is the second-best Valorant region in the world. North America is the birthplace of Riot's tactical shooter, and it'd be a shame if they weren't the best at it.
Looking back at the rest of the teams that got an invitation, we see the usual suspects and Team BDS. The latter is a newly-formed squad with just two tournaments played. The first one was the VCT 2021: Europe Stage 2 Challengers 2, where they ultimately lost to Team Liquid but still took 3rd-4th place. Their second event was VALORANT Open Tour: France - Spring Qualifier and BDS flopped hard in there, finishing at a 7th-8th place.
There's also one big organization that's clearly missing from the picture – G2 Esports. Let's hope that this time they'll survive the open qualifiers!
