OG's Valorant team did the impossible yesterday. The European squad didn't lose a single round on the first day of the VCT Stage 3 Challengers open qualifiers. We've never seen anything like it!
The Valorant competitive scene is finally making a return after a month-long hiatus. Not a lot has happened since the Stage 2 Masters Reykjavik, but that's all about to change. The open qualifiers for Stage 3 Challengers 1 are already underway and some teams are clearly taking the lead. Currently, there's no better example of that than OG.
OG Didn’t Lose a Round On Day One
OG's performance on the first day of the VCT Stage 3 Challengers open qualifiers was outstanding, to say the least. The team raised the bar high by not losing a single roundthroughout the entire day. OG defeated four different teams and the result was always the same. That's a streak of 52 rounds!
Did we just write history here?We enter Day 2 of Stage 3's first Open Qualifier WITHOUT DROPPING A SINGLE ROUND 52 rounds win streak.52.GGs. What a debut. #DreamOG pic.twitter.com/cycy8O9ZsK

Let's put this into perspective. Even if you're not familiar with Valorant, it's all quite impressive. Imagine the same situation in CS:GO or any other competitive shooter. It's crazy! Sure, OG are playing against random stacks in the open qualifiers, but not losing a round against four different teams – that's something. You can catch the full day and all four games on Twitch.
The organization made some big changes in their Valorant team recently, and we're already seeing the results. The current OG Valorant roster consists of:
- Kevin "TviQ" Lindström
- Benjamin "uNKOE" Chevasson
- Harry "DPS" MacGill
- Nikita "trexx" Cherednichenko
- Tomas "Destrian" Linikas
OG's Valorant team is one of the newest in the competitive scene. It was formed in February 2021 and so far, they've only played in two events VCT 2021: Europe Stage 1 Challengers 2 and VCT 2021: Europe Stage 1 Challengers 3. In both of these tournaments, they placed 5th-8th. Results were lacking, and the roster changed a lot in the past month. Will OG reach the main event? The top Valorant teams in Europe like Fnatic and Team Liquid are already waiting in the closed qualifier.
