Here comes the long-awaited Valorant update, bringing with it another Act. However, it won't be so flashy this time....
Today (August 23) Valorant will receive an update introducing Episode 5 Act 2. This time, however, the new Act will not bring with it any major changes. Despite leaks about the new Agent, it looks like we will still have to wait for it.
So, what exactly does the 5.04 update bring with it? Besides all the Act stuff, the only things we are virtually getting are the crosshair-related quality of life improvements, including a couple of new features. Fancy? No. Welcome? Absolutely.
Game System Changes
Custom Crosshair Color
- Added the ability to select a custom crosshair color.
It wasn't a big problem, but we are happy that this feature is there. Here's how to utilize it:
- Go to Settings >> Crosshair >> Primary, Aim Down Sights, or Sniper Scope
- On the drop down menu for color, select Custom and input the Hex Code (6-digit RGB) value of desired color
- If a non-Hex code is entered, crosshair will revert to the previous color.
Horizontal / Vertical Crosshair Lines
- Added the ability to independently tune horizontal and vertical crosshair lines.
- Go to Settings >> Crosshair >> Primary or Aim Down Sights >> Inner/Outer Length
- Disabling the middle “chain” icon enables independent tuning.
- The left slider is for horizontal line and the right slider is for the vertical line.
Copy Player's Crosshair
- Added the ability to copy spectating player’s crosshair settings.
To use this feature, when spectating another player, type “/crosshair copy” or “/cc” to import the crosshair of the player you are spectating and save it as a new crosshair profile.
More Crosshair Profiles
- Increased the number of crosshair profiles available from 10 to 15.
This is not really a big change because we don't change crosshairs every game. Still, the more crosshair profiles, the better; we felt like 10 was enough, but if Riot can do more – why not?
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug where Yoru’s Gatecrash would sometimes leave floor markers in incorrect locations
And... yeah, that's pretty much it for Patch 5.04 notes. 5 changes in total are not something we would expect for a Act update, but well, it is what it is. Still, that is probably a sign of Riot working hard on something big as we have Valorant Champions ahead of us!
