Valorant Player of the Month, January 2022: AverageJonas

Since we started our Player of the month series for Valorant, we have always talked about pros and players we admire for their outstanding skills. However, this month, we will talk about someone who can entertain us in a slightly different way.

AverageJonas is a Norwegian streamer who has been known in the gaming world for a long time, and some of you may know him as an Overwatch semi-pro, Twitch streamer, or just a memer who sings about gaming. However, in the last two years, he has become that one person who brings something unique to the Valorant community with his personality. The 2022 VCT season is just getting started, and even though he's not competing, he's sure to manifest himself during the most significant events of the year and make them even more stunning than usual.

AverageJonas & Valorant

As some of you may know, AverageJonas is a singer with an opera background, and his first Valorant video was actually a... song about Jett mains. He started playing Valorant in closed beta due to not being able to travel and having to stay home and well, he stayed that way.

Right after the game officially came out, he started publishing more and more content related to Sova, our famous Wallhack agent, and honestly – it's probably so popular because of him. Sure, AverageJonas may not be the person who made Sova as strong as he is, but his streams and content certainly gave another meaning to the words "Shock Dart".

Today, AverageJonas is the official VCT caster, one of the biggest content creators in Valorant signed with Team Liquid, and the face on the posters in the rooms of Sova mains. And he still didn't give up his passion for singing! Check out his "Die for You" cover (and compare it to the "Jett Main" song for memes):

Why is AverageJonas our Player of the Month?

Since the big VCT games are just around the corner and there will still be plenty of opportunities to focus on pro players, we decided to focus on someone who keeps us entertained regardless of whether it is the off-season or not, and this is a perfect example of such a person. When there are big events, he either casts them or organizes VCT watch parties on his Twitch channel, and when there aren't any, he always comes up with some cool way to spend some time with his viewers. This month, he streamed 150 hours total while remaining active on his YouTube channel.

One more thing we want to single out AverageJonas for, is how big of a character he has become for the game. If he tests new lineups on his stream or watches his viewers' lineups, you can be sure to see them in his next games. Even though he's not pro, the way he explains these lineups and shows them is so fun that even if you're not a Sova main at all, you occasionally feel like picking this Russian Agent just to test it all out. All that not only made him our Player of the Month, but also the go-to streamer for many Valorant fans, whether they're interested in esports, improving their gameplay or memes.
