Valorant Episode 3 is less than a week away, and there's already good news - some big changes to the ranked system are expected in the upcoming update.
Valorant's ranked system has been a topic of discussion for months now, as there's definitely space for improvement. Riot Games made an interesting decision earlier this year when they removed 5-man stacks from the Valorant competitive mode. This raised more than a few eyebrows, and the question - Why?
While Riot's initial idea was to "make players communicate with people they don't know," this decision brought down the quality of the average game in the higher ranks. Many pro players and streamers have been asking for a return of the 5-man stacks, and there might be some light at the end of the tunnel after all.
Big Ranked Changes in Valorant Episode 3
According to a recent post by Valorant Competitive Designer RiotEvrMoar, there are some big changes coming later this month. Valorant Episode 3 Act 1 is set to drop on June 22. More information will be available a day earlier during the live stream for Episode 3.
There are changes to ranked coming, and we are wrapping up our plans on how to discuss those changes - we will talk about them on the Episode 3 Live Stream June 21 at 10am PT. Episodes are when we have our bigger ranked resets.

While EvrMoar didn't reveal any major details about the upcoming changes, he confirmed that there are no plans for a hard reset:
There is no hard reset planned, I've talked about this on random threads but it's just pure chaos and won't achieve the results people expect. We will have a very harsh reset that will squish ranks, and will effect MMR (along with our other planned changes).
Changes to the ranked system aren't the only thing coming with Episode 3, as the data miners hinted at some huge price reductions to many of the weapons.
Future Weapon Price Changes | #VALORANT ~ Frenzy : 500 >>> 450~ Stinger : 1100 >>> 950~ Bucky: 900 >>> 850~ Judge: 1600 >>> 1850~ Bulldog: 2100 >>> 2050~ Guardian: 2400 >>> 2250~ Marshall: 1000 >>> 950~ Operator: 5000 >>> 4700~ Ares: 1600 >>> 1550

The leak in question came before the 2.11 patch in Valorant, and since the weapon prices are still the same, it's fair to expect the discount at some point during Season 3. This will definitely have a huge impact on the weapon economy as a whole, eco rounds, and purchases.
