The Valorant Champions Tour is currently taking place in Reykjavik, Iceland with the Stage 2 Masters tournament. Here are the top 5 players you should keep an eye out for.
The first international tournament in Valorant for 2021 is already a fact with the start of the Stage 2 Masters Reykjavik. Ten of the best teams from around the world made it to Iceland but only one will be crowned champions. While some have already been eliminated yesterday and two more will follow today there's still plenty of talent left to impress the fans. Here are the top 5 Valorant players that might make all the difference in Reykjavik!
TenZ
Tyson "TenZ" Ngo is the replacement for Jay "sinatraa" Won in the Valorant roster of Sentinels. He's currently on loan from Cloud9 but the pro player is already a perfect fit in the NA team. Sentinels claimed first place at the Stage 1 Masters NA, Stage 2 Challengers 2 and the Stage 2 Challengers Finals - that's a statement. TenZ is one of the top fraggers in the Valorant scene and his skill is hard to match.
Sick
Hunter "SicK" Mims is another good reason why Sentinels are so successful. He's one of the players with the highest KDA in the North American scene and expectations are high. If TenZ isn't performing well during a series you can usually expect Sick to carry the weight.
ScreaM
The one big surprise in the Valorant scene was Team Liquid's rise to glory. If we had to guess, Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom had a lot to do with it. The retired CS:GO player is one of the scariest opponents in the EU scene and for good reason. With one of the highest KDA scores globally ScreaM is a force to be reckoned with.
Derke
Nikita "Derke" Sirmitev is one of the youngest talents in the Valorant scene at just the age of 18. He's currently playing for Fnatic and already won the MVP of Stage 2 Masters for Day 1 of the event. Fnatic fell to Sentinels in round 1 of the upper bracket but we have a feeling that's not the end for the team. Perhaps Derke will have something to say?
Lakia
Kim "Lakia" Jong-min is another young talent in the Valorant scene with a CS:GO background. Lakia played for Lucid Dream before making the switch to Valorant. He's currently playing for NUTURN Gaming and the team already managed to secure a spot in the winner's finals against Sentinels. As for Lakia, he's in the top 5 when it comes to KDA.
