Valorant's pro scene is booming in 2021 but there are also plenty of third-party events. The Twitch Rivals Valorant Series 1 concluded yesterday, and we have all the details. Here's what happened in the grand finals!
If you think there's too much competitive Valorant going on, you're not alone. The Twitch Rivals Valorant Series 1 was a breath of fresh air. It featured some of the most famous Valorant streamers as they fought it out in the past week. Make no mistake though, some of them like Tyson "TenZ" Ngo have been in pro teams but in the end preferred to focus on content creation.
Twitch Rivals: Valorant – Series 1 Playoffs
The Twitch Rivals Valorant Series 1 started with eight teams but only six made it to the playoffs:
- Team ploo
- Team Aceu
- Team Tiffae
- Team QuarterJade
- Team RayC
- Team Sonii
Expectations were high for Aceu as it featured not only TenZ but also Brandon “Aceu” Winn who's a famous Apex Legends player for NRG. Sadly, their run ended in the playoffs where ploo bested them. QuarterJade defeated Tiffae and moved to the semifinals. Waiting in there were the two top teams from the group stage - Sonii and RayC.
It wasn't much of a surprise that the two teams prevailed over their opponents - RayC defeated ploo and Sonii eliminated QuarterJade. This left us with the two group leaders in the grand final of the Twitch Rivals event. RayC took the lead with a victory on Icebox but Sonii came back into it on Haven. It was all decided on the third and final map - Bind.
Who Won Twitch Rivals Valorant – Series 1?
The match was as close as you expected, but Team RayC wrapped the series 13-11 on the final map and won Twitch Rivals Valorant – Series 1. Grabbing the champion's title, RayC earned $10,000 in prize money along with the bragging rights. RayC were really the surprise of the event as they were the only team without an ex-pro player. Despite that, they still proved to be the best in Twitch Rivals.
