Valorant added a couple of new game mods over the past year including deathmatch, spike rush, and others. Is battle royale the next thing on the list?
The first leak regarding a battle royale mode in Valorant came back in 2020. Earlier this year data miners discovered a brand-new mechanic that'll allow players to revive teammates. Bringing back a fallen teammate is a common mechanic in most battle royale titles. Sadly, it turned out, that was a mechanic tied to the latest agent in the game – KAY/O.
Valorant Battle Royale Leaked
As we've already mentioned, the first leak of a Valorant battle royale mode came all the way back on November 30, 2020. The leaker followed up with another short video recently where he clarified that his sources are legit.

According to the rumor, the Valorant battle royale mode was already being tested by a small group of people in China. In the short video above, PlayerIGN claims that players in China were invited to try out the Valorant battle royale. With the addition of KAY/O into the game, the revive mechanic is already in play.
Valorant Battle Royale Release Date
The big question is – when exactly can we expect the new mode? There's still no official confirmation from Riot Games that a battle royale mode is coming to Valorant.

It's 2021 and the battle royale market is a bit oversaturated. Fortnite and PUBG were the founding pillars of battle royale, and they're still around. In addition to that, there's Apex Legends, Call of Duty: Warzone, and many others. Even Valve released their own form of a battle royale in CS:GO with Danger Zone.
Despite the fact that the market is already flooded with such games, fans have been asking for a Valorant battle royale since before the game even launched. Riot Games were at the top in the MOBA genre with League of Legends. With Valorant, they sought to challenge the tactical shooter status quo and dethrone CS:GO. Will they be able to conquer the battle royale genre as well by offering players something new? Only time will tell.
