Valorant Celebrates One-Year Anniversary With Birthday Rush

Today, Valorant officially celebrates one year since its global release. Riot Games will mark June 2 as a special occasion with the Birthday Rush event with some special treat for all the fans in Southeast Asia.

Valorant entered closed beta on April 7, 2020, and then got officially released on June 2, 2020. Today, it's one year old. The tactical shooter's anniversary didn't go unnoticed by Riot Games, as they've decided to celebrate with a special Birthday Rush event. Players in SEA will get a special tournament, showcase, and live stream. The latter will include a live stream in which you can tune in to win some exclusive rewards including Valorant merch!

In a press statement Justin Hulog, Riot Games General Manager for SEA, Taiwan, and Hong Kong commented:

When we launched Valorant last year, our goal was to bring our unique Riot brand to the FPS genre. One year on, we are thrilled to see that the game is so well-received by our players around the world. In particular, we want to thank our amazing Southeast Asia player community for their amazing support and engagement over the past year.

The Birthday Rush live stream will be exclusively available to players from SEA. The stream will go live today, June 2 at 8 PM (GMT +8) so stay tuned!

But wait, there's more! In addition to the live stream, Riot Games will also present a special showcase. The Birthday Rush showcase will feature Filipino visual artist Bricx Martillo Dumas aka ShrimpPaste.

There's also the Birthday Rush tournament (even though it's not really called that) scheduled for June 11. The Twitch Rivals Valorant Community Tournament will be open for Taiwanese players and content creators. It'll offer a total of $15 000 in prize money along with prizes and in-game rewards.
