Riot gave us a riddle, which, at the same time, is an announcement of a new Valorant map. Let's solve it and get closer to discovering the secrets of Canyon!
Tonight, on all Valorant Twitter profiles, we could see a picture of a new Valorant map, "Canyon", with various phrases in four different languages, close-ups, and a task to “Decode this”.

That's what we're going to do today; we're going to solve the meaning of all the words and speculate on what it all might mean. And we'll tell you right away — it looks like the next patch will be much more extensive than the one we got now.

Meaning of All Phrases
Let's start with the phrases that appear in various places on the image, which is the main part of this puzzle. Their meaning teases us with the theme of the new map, so let's check out what Canyon is hiding! The phrases are written in 4 different languages — Japanese, Chinese, German, and Portuguese.
- Entzweite Weiten (German): Divided Worlds
- Futuros Revelados (Portuguese): Futures Revealed
- 王国 (Japanese): Kingdom
- 分解 (Chinese): Disintegrate
But why did Riot decided to use these languages? Our theory is that it is closely related to Valorant lore. Specifically, to 4 particular Agents:
- Killjoy (German)
- Yoru (Japanese)
- Sage (Chinese)
- Raze (Portuguese)
Valorant Canyon Map Theme
Everything seems to indicate that the next weeks will bring more Valorant lore. This “Divided World” theme has been with us since the beginning of the new Battle Pass, and we first saw it in the “Duality Cinematic”, which came out almost 3 months ago. In the middle of the cinematic (1:53), Phoenix met his clone, and at the end of it (3:47), we could see the two Earths. Therefore, expect a continuation of the story from the last cinematic, which will probably result in the release of a Canyon map.
Valorant Canyon Map Design
It looks like the map will be divided into two sections, with one Spike Site on each. The left side of the Canyon will be more futuristic, and the right side somewhat archaic. As we can see in the close-ups, we can expect a “B” on the right side of the map, and it also seems to have many rooftops and places we'll be able to jump on (Jett players are probably rubbing their hands together at this point). We see the potential for quick rotations from one Spike Site to another, but that's just pure speculation for now.
Another thing worth noting is that the map is on a hill with nothing around it. Recall that Riot has already used similar concepts in the past; could Valorant be more connected to the League of Legends universe than we think?
