Another day of Valorant Champions is behind us. Keeping the adrenaline filled action from day 1 going, day 2 brought with it another 3 adrenaline-inducing opening matches from groups C and B. Here's how it went:
Day 2 of champions is behind us, and it was another one for the history books. We saw a nerve wrecking struggle between Gambit and Team secret, and a brutal clash between Team Krü and Team Liquid. Here's how the day went.
Match 1: Gambit vs. Team Secret
Day 2 starts off with a terrifying match up between the #1 ranked EMEA Russian Team: Gambit vs. the recently founded but equally lethal #2 ranked SEA Philippine team: Team Secret. This was one of the most anticipated VCT opening matches- for good reason.
In game one on Icebox, Team Secret surprised Gambit with some clean, aggressive plays. Dominating their rivals, they finished the first half with 8:4, then took home the win with 13:6 in the second half.
However, game two on Breeze went terribly wrong for Team Secret. Gambit was out for revenge, and responded with some ruthless team plays and seemingly impossible clutches. It was an absolute slaughter, resulting in a humiliating win of 13:0 against Team secret.
Game three, on Bind, had Team Secret desperately trying to push Gambit back after a complete sweep. Unfortunately for the team, Gambit kept up their onslaught, finishing the first half with 7:5, then taking home the win with 13:6.
It was a roller coaster of a start to Day 2.

Match 2: Sentinels vs. Furia Esports
Match 2 of the day was another clash between titans: NA's #1 ranked: Team Sentinels vs. Brazil's #2 ranked: Furia Esports. This match was a close one that had us biting our nails.
In game one on Ascent, both teams seemed evenly matched, with the first half ending in a 6:6 tie. However, Sentinels focused up showing their prowess on attack, and gained the edge in the second half, winning map one with 13:9.
Game two on Breeze was a complete 180. Furia played excellently on the more open map, finishing the first half with a surprising 8:4, then winning the map with 13:10.
Game three on Haven saw Sentinels finally living up to the NA attitude. Sentinels came back swinging, finishing the first half with 9:3, pushing back a determined Furia, to win the game with a 13:9.
It was a tense struggle that had us on the edges of our seats, waiting for what would happen next.

Match 3: Team Krü vs. Team Liquid
Match 3 was the final boss battle of the day. LAS #1 ranked: Team Krü vs. the renowned EMEA, #2 ranked Team Liquid. Team Krü fought valiantly and stood their ground against the titan. But despite Nivera testing positive with Covid-19 just a few days prior, Team liquid was as strong as ever, stomping Team Krü on both maps.
Game one on Haven was nothing special, Team Liquid finished first half with 8:4, then breezed through second half, wining the game with 13:5.
Game two on Ascent had team Krü desperately trying to fight back, but Team Liquid kept the pressure up finishing half with 9:3, then grabbed the win with a 13:8.
Team Krü put up a great fight, but Team liquid made it clear that they are here to win.
