The current Episode 2, Act 1 in Valorant introduced a lot of new features to the game. Aside from the latest agent, Yoru, Riot Games also brought the Escalation mode which is a different way to enjoy the game: Pick up as many kills as you can, while your weapons keep changing. Fun! Episode 2, Act 2 - All we know so far

Release date

Perhaps the easiest part of the new Act is the release date. You can make an educated guess by simply taking a look at the end date of the current Battle Pass. This leads us to March 2 or, perhaps, a day later on March 3. That means it's all coming out next week!

A new agent

It wouldn't really be a new Valorant Act without a brand-new agent, would it? We have a couple of leads on it, so sit tight. The first one came through the latest #AskValorant State of the Agents blog post where Valorant Character Producer john Goscicki revealed:

So….um, this leaves us with the future. Y’all have been asking for another Controller, and well, that’s what you’re getting next! ...we’re trying to push the boundaries when it comes to Agent abilities in VALORANT, and so far, everything we’ve thrown at you has been less disruptive than we thought they’d be. That said, our next Controller is a cosmic shift from the play patterns you’ve grown accustomed to. This one is for all you “galaxy brain” players out there that like to study everything that happens on a map.

That's a confirmed controller agent directly by Riot Games. So far there are only three of them in the game – Viper, Omen, and Brimstone. The new agent will be a fine addition to that pool.

So Who Will Be the New Valorant Agent?

The upcoming agent is rumored to be from Ghana. The leak above leads us to a folder called "PainAuxRaisins" which is French for "raisin bread". We're not sure what that's supposed to mean, but French is widely spoken in Ghana.

In terms of abilities, the next agent might have access to both smokes and flashbangs. There are also some sprites that data miners were able to dig out.

Not much else is known about the new agent but players that prefer a controller type agent can finally rejoice!

Will Episode 2 Act 2 Bring a New Valorant Map?

It has been some time since Riot Games released a map in Valorant. The last one was Icebox and that was back in October 2020! It's probably a good guess that if not this Act, then the next one will surely include a new map. Icebox is arguably one of the player-favorite maps in Valorant due to its verticality when compared to the rest.

A New Battle Pass

Well, this one is a guarantee, every Act so far had a Battle Pass tied to it. In addition to the various skins that players can unlock it'll also give us a hint at when Act 3 will be released. There are already some rumors flying around that Act 2 might be shorter than what we're used to but we'll have to wait and see.

Balance changes

As with every major update, there'll be some balance changes coming. Riot confirmed that Yoru will be getting some buffs in the next Act, but we can't say the same for Viper.

That's all we have for now, but we'll make sure to update this article if anything else comes up before the release of Episode 2 Act 2! Are you excited about the next big update? Tell us on Facebook or Twitter!
