Agent KAY/O is finally out with the release of patch 3.00. The start of Episode 3 Act 1 made numerous changes to agent abilities and weapon prices. We already covered the most nerfed agents in Valorant's latest patch. Now it's time for our official Valorant 3.00 agent tier list.
Have you been playing Valorant lately? If the answer is yes, you've probably noticed the changes to the in-game economy. It didn't all end there as these changes also affected Valorant's meta in terms of picks. Riot Games made the interesting decision to not buff the under-picked agents. Instead, they nerfed the favorites and brought them down. Without further ado, here's our agent tier list for Valorant 3.00.
Valorant 3.00 Agent Tier List
Did you know that Tier Lists were created by the fighting game community? Let's start things with the top agents you can pick in Valorant's patch 3.00.
S-Tier - KAY/O, Viper, Jett
- KAY/O was just introduced into the game and takes the first spot in our tier list. The robot agent brought a new mechanic with his signature ability and ultimate. Suppressing enemies will force them to rely on their aim, as abilities will be disabled. The rest of KAY/O's kit is also quite powerful, and players have yet to learn how to deal with him.
- Omen and Astra got nerfed in patch 3.00 and this left us with Viper as the dominant Controller in Valorant. She also got some nerfs, but nothing to dethrone her from her number one position. Her post-plant power is insane, and it makes defusal almost impossible. The question is – will Riot nerf her next patch?
- Last in the S-Tier is Jett. If you want to play the Operator, Jett is your best pick. She's the only agent that can survive after a missed shot and get a second attempt. She got her ability costs increased in the current patch and her ultimate now costs 7 points instead of 6. Jett's positioning is quite important, and she's arguably the highest skill cap agent in S-Tier.
A-Tier - Sova, Killjoy, Skye, Cypher, Reyna
- Sova got some big nerfs on his ability costs in patch 3.00. Other than that, he's very much the same, with all of his skills untouched. He'll still be able to do everything like before, it'll just cost him a bit more per round. That earns him a spot at the top of the A-Tier.
- Killjoy's ability costs remained the same after Valorant's patch 3.00 but her cooldowns were changed. Both the Alarmbot and the Turret now have a 20-second cooldown when you pick them up. Despite that, she's still quite good in the current patch.
- Skye actually got buffed? Well, she got both. Her eagles are more expensive and down to two charges, BUT they'll now recharge over the course of the round. Trailblazer is a bit more expensive, but the concussion duration got buffed along with the vision radius. You win some, you lose some.
- Cypher was the sole agent to get only buffs with patch 3.00. Jett can no longer dash through his tripwires, and his ultimate cost was reduced by one. Furthermore, both Killjoy and Sage got the short end of the stick and that moved him up the food chain.
- Reyna's Leer got a bit more expensive with the latest patch, so why is she in the A Tier? It's simple, she probably the best duelist to combo with KAY/O's suppression. If you can't get in line to pick the robot, just get Reyna and wait for the suppression. Then just waltz in and trade without worrying about enemy utility.

B-Tier - Sage, Breach, Omen, Phoenix, Astra
- Sage got only nerfs this patch with increased costs on Slow Orb and Barrier Orb. In addition, her ultimate now costs a point more and that'll spell less revives over the course of a match. She's still good and quite easy to play.
- Breach got some interesting changes to his abilities, and it's really hard to tell whether he'll go up or fall down. The next few weeks will be a good indicator of whether Riot buffed him or nerfed him.
- Omen was one of the most picked agents at the start of 2021. That slowly started to change patch after patch. He got numerous nerfs, and 3.00 wasn't any different. Paranioa and Shrouded Step are more expensive, and he no longer gets two smokes at the start of the roun.
- Phoenix is one of the most well-rounded agents in Valorant, but right now he just feels like a worse version of KAY/O. Sure, he can heal, but his utility is weaker, and his ultimate will sometimes just get you killed twice.
- Astra got absolutely destroyed with patch 3.00. She was already the most complex agent you can pick in the game and now with cooldowns on her abilities basically doubling, she's in a weird spot. She still has plenty of control to offer, but it's getting worse and worse with each patch.
C-Tier - Raze, Brimstone, Yoru
- Ah, Raze, how the mighty have fallen. Raze's Boombot cost doubled from 200 credits to 400 credits. That's almost the cost of a Frenzy. Considering she really wants to use this ability every round, that's a lot of extra credits lost. Her ultimate also got nerfed with an extra point needed to use it.
- Brimstone's molly got a bit more expensive with patch 3.00. While that isn't a huge nerf by itself, it's certainly an attack on his post-plant potential. He's still great at dropping smokes, but that's about it.
- Yoru is still at the bottom of the barrel. The Japanese duelist got his Blindside cost increased along with the cooldown of Gatecrash. Stop it, Riot, he's already dead! On the plus side, he's set to get some massive buffs further down the season. Or a complete rework? Let's hope for the latter.
