Bucky Weapon Guide
We've already gone through the snipers, rifles, and sidearms in Valorant. Now it's time for the real underdogs – the shotguns. The Bucky is the first shotgun on our list and it's quite versatile. Here's a quick look at the Bucky's stats:
- Bucky Fire rate: 1.1 rounds/sec
- Bucky Magazine capacity: 5 rounds
- Bucky Wall Penetration: Low
- Bucky Reload Speed: 2.5 seconds (0.5 per shell)
The Bucky is the cheapest primary weapon in Valorant, and it hits hard at close to medium range – you just need to know how to use it. One tip we can give you in advance, is to reload shells between your individual shots.
Bucky Damage
The Bucky is great at close range. This shotgun fires 15 pellets, and you'll need only 8 of those to connect at up to 8m in order to get a kill. Headshots will cause pellets to deal double the pain, but there's some noticeable drop in damage the further your foes are:
- 0m-8m: Body 20/Head 40/Leg 17
- 8m-12m: Body 13/Head 26/Leg 11
- 12m-50m: Body 9/Head 18/Leg 7
Trying to hit an enemy with your primary fire after 8m is useless, but that's where the alternate fire of the Bucky comes in.
Bucky Alternate Fire
The Bucky is a shotgun, but it can actually deal some decent damage at up to mid-range thanks to its ADS. The shotgun's alternate fire causes it to release a canister which explodes at 7.5m and releases five pellets instead of 15. That's still enough to take down an unarmored foe at 8 to 12m. If you hit a target before the canister explodes, only a single pellet will deal damage.
TheBucky's wall penetration is as bad as it gets, so just avoid doing wall bangs.
Bucky Price
The main advantage of the Bucky over many of the other weapons in Valorant is its price. As we've already mentioned, the Bucky is the cheapest primary weapon, and patch 3.00 reduced that price further from 900 credits to 850. Now, you're probably asking yourself, is the Bucky better than the Sheriff? That's a good question, and the answer is simple. The Sheriff has a lot of shot recovery and requires good aim, while the Bucky can kill even without a headshot. If you have nice accuracy, it might be wiser to pick the Sheriff, but the Bucky can usually kill faster at close range.

Conclusion
The Buckyis the cheaper shotgun in Valorant and the most affordable primary weapon. It can one-shot foes at close range and inflict some serious damage at up to 12m. If you're taking fights further than that, there's probably a better weapon. The Bucky is all about making it close and personal, so make the best out of it!
