Frenzy Weapon Guide

We've already covered all the rifles, snipers, and SMGs. The next class of weapons we're covering is the sidearms. Are pistols only viable during eco? Definitely not, but you'll often play at a disadvantage against some of the more expensive weapons. The Frenzy is an excellent choice at close range. Here's a quick look at the weapon's stats:

  • Frenzy Fire rate: 10 rounds/sec
  • Frenzy Magazine capacity: 13 rounds
  • Frenzy Wall Penetration: Low
  • Frenzy Reload Speed: 1.5 seconds

You need only a quick glance at the Frenzy to realize that it was inspired by the CZ75-Auto, another automatic pistol, but from CS:GO. The Frenzy not only looks like the CZ but also acts like it. Much like the CZ, the Frenzy has an insanely high fire rate, low magazine capacity, and it's only effective at close to mid-range.

Frenzy Damage

The Sheriff is the hardest-hitting pistol in Valorant, but the Frenzy is the fastest-hitting one. Which one is better? It's hard to tell, and it really depends on your aim as well as the situation. The Frenzy can melt most opponents at close range, no matter the weapon they're using.

  • 0m-20m: Body 26/Head 78/Leg 22
  • 20m-50m: Body 21/Head 63/Leg 17

The damage drop-off isn't that bad, but the base damage is. You'll often need to land a few bullets to the head for a quick kill. Aiming for the legs or body will often require almost a full clip. This means you'll have to reload right after, which leaves you vulnerable if a second enemy appears (and that happens a lot).

As we saw, the Frenzy's damage isn't that great, and it doesn't have good wall penetration. The only major upside of the sidearm is the high fire rate, but it also comes at a cost.

Frenzy Recoil

Looking at the picture above, you'll quickly realize that spraying down with the Frenzy is often a bad idea if the enemy isn't in your face. Empty a full clip only if an enemy is in close range, in any other case you should try firing in short bursts.

Frenzy Price

Another thing that the Frenzy has going except the high fire rate is the price. For 450 credits this sidearm is often a better choice than any other pistol when it comes to close-range skirmishes.

Conclusion

In its essence, the Frenzy is a high-risk low reward weapon that can melt anyone that gets close enough. Unfortunately, it fails at almost everything else. This makes it very situational and requires a certain playstyle that'll have you waiting around corners. If you're the patient type, then you should definitely try it out.
