Marshal Weapon Guide
The Marshal is a sniper and as such you'd expect a couple of things from it - to hit hard, one-shot, and cost a lot. Some of these are true. Let's take a look at the weapon's stats first.
- Fire rate: 1.5 rounds/sec
- Magazine capacity: 5 rounds
- Wall Penetration: Medium
- Reload Speed: 2.5 seconds
The Marshal's magazine is just as big as the Operator's, but unlike the latter, it doesn't hit as hard.
Marshal Damage
Sniper rifles in Valorant have no damage drop off, so each shot will always deal the same amount of damage, no matter the distance. The only deciding factor will be your own accuracy and where exactly you hit your enemies.
- 0m-50: Body 101/Head 202/Leg 85
A headshot with the Marshal will always kill, so in a perfect world, you'll be able to ace the entire enemy team with a single magazine. Body shots will be a great strategy when your enemies are broke and forced into an echo round. Leg shots deal slightly less and unless you're trying to finish off a wounded foe, it's not a part you should be aiming for.
Marshal Alt-Fire
Snipers don't have an alternate fire like some other weapons, instead, they give you access to a strong scope. The Marshal only has one level of zoom (x3.5) unlike the Operator, which has two. If you were hoping for some quick scopes with the Marshal, we'll have to disappoint you, as the zoom is often too powerful to utilize in that manner.
Fun fact: The Marshal is based loosely upon the Winchester 1873/1894 lever-action rifle and the Steyr Scout.
Marshal Price
The Marshal's price is where things get interesting. With a market tag of just 1000 credits, this weapon is a total steal, given you have the accuracy to handle it. Each weapon from the rifle category costs upward of 2000 credits and for less than half of that, you get a firearm that has no damage drop off and can one-shot enemies. The downside, of course, is that it has a low fire rate, and you'll often find yourself in trouble when foes come in close range.

Marshal in Eco Rounds
The weapon's price makes it a tempting pick in eco rounds, and we've even started seeing it in force rounds in the Valorant competitive scene. The Marshal is fairly accurate even without scoping in at up to 10 meters. You can buy it almost every round due to the low cost and focus on getting more utility for your team. Its zoom got buffed recently from x2.5 to x3.5 and the zoomed-in movement speed was increased from 76% to 90%. Put all of this together, and it's clear why some players go for the Marshal in eco rounds. It's a one-tap to the head, two to the body type of weapon, for only 1000 credits.
Conclusion
The Marshal is by no means the best weapon in the game. The Operator is a lot more expensive and while it kills with a single shot to the body, it can also force you into eco if you lose it. The Marshal can be bought over and over until you find success and that makes it a much safer choice. It's not great at close range, so all you have to do is keep your distance and rely on your aim. With no damage drop-off, it doesn't matter how far an enemy is, so you'll just have to aim for that head.
