We've already covered all the rifles, snipers, and SMGs. Now we turn our interest to the sidearms. Should you use them only in eco rounds? If you're good with the Sheriff, probably not. Here's a quick overview of the revolver's stats:

  • Sheriff Fire rate: 4 rounds/sec
  • Sheriff Magazine capacity: 6 rounds
  • Sheriff Wall Penetration: High
  • Sheriff Reload Speed: 2.25 seconds

The Sheriff's closest comparison is the Desert Eagle from CS:GO. Both weapons are hand canons, but there are some slight differences when it comes to damage. While the Eagle in CS always kills with a single shot to the head no matter the distance, the Sheriff does not. Here's why.

Sheriff Damage

The Sheriff is without a doubt the hardest-hitting pistol in Valorant. Any opponent that's close to mid-range will die with a single shot to the head, and that's not something a lot of weapons can do. Going further than 30 meters will scale down the damage and make the Sheriff less deadly.

  • 0m-30m: Body 55/Head 159/Leg 46
  • 30m-50m: Body 50/Head 145/Leg 42

As you can see from the damage at various distances, headshots at over 30 meters won't always kill. To be fair, the damage drop-off isn't that significant, but Riot probably decided to balance the weapon, so it doesn't completely dominate the meta.

Sheriff Wall Penetration

While the Sheriff doesn't have an alternative fire mode, it makes up for it with high wall penetration. This allows you to wall bang and checks common enemy hiding spots, which will often result in a kill or at least some damage.

Sheriff Recoil

Doing multiple shots in a row will reduce the weapon's accuracy significantly. Unless you're aiming at an enemy that's in your face, you're better off going for a one tap to the head. The Sheriff has the most recoil out of all the pistols, and it'll take some time before it can recover. It's arguably the revolver's biggest weakness.

Sheriff Price

The Sheriff hits hard and can one-tap better than any other pistol. With traits like these, you'd expect it to be the most expensive sidearm, and it is. Sitting at 800 credits, the Sheriff is on the fine line between pistols and a cheap SMG.

Conclusion

The Sheriffis the Valorant hand cannon. It can one-shot anyone at up to 30 meters and inflict some serious damage to foes further away. This sidearm truly hits like a truck and the only downsides are the recoil and its high price for a pistol. If your aim is good, there's probably no better pistol to pick.
