Sounds play a major role in Valorant. Hardly anyone who plays the game seriously would ever go into a match without a headset, because they know: You can often hear your opponents before you see them. That can easily be the difference between victory and defeat. But just what sounds can your opponents hear exactly?
Information is very, very important in Valorant: The tactical shooter is more than just shooting, it's equally as important to find out where the opponent is. Communication and attentive listening to all in-game sounds are essential for this. Often a single, loud step can spell defeat.

Can you scream before you attack please?
The agents' Ultimates are definitely the loudest and most revealing sounds in the game. If you ever played or watched the beta, you are probably already traumatized by Raze’s “fire in the hole” or Phoenix’ “joke’s over, you’re dead!”
Valorant’s agents like to announce their Ultimates to everyone on the map, like some cliché superheroes.
When it comes to abilities, some agents make more noise than others: It's obvious that abilities like Phoenix’ fireball, Sova's thundering arrows, Breach’s earthquakes, or just about anything that Raze does, makes a lot of noise. However, the fact that Jett's hovering and Sage's healing can be heard by the enemy, might not be so clear.
Apart from the agents’ abilities, there are other things with some noticeable sounds that you should know about. Important: Whenever sounds are heard, a small circle appears under your player icon on the map. This circle tells you the radius of the sound you are making. If an enemy is within that radius, they can hear you.
Quiet please. We’re shooting
Remember: Aiming, changing weapons and picking up weapons does not make a sound, but reloading is loud enough for an enemy in the immediate vicinity to hear.
If you’re running, you might as well but on some tap shoes and get the spotlights ready, whereas walking and crouching, do not make a sound. Also, the ropes on the split map do not make a sound when you slow-climb them. Basically, don't touch the sprint button unless you are in a hurry and know that there is no opponent nearby anyway.
When jumping, the rules are: If you jump up to something high, it doesn’t make a sound. But if you jump on a level surface or onto a lower level, you announce yourself loudly.
