Soon the Xbox Series X will be on the market and we always get exciting news. Now a new feature has been announced and there are figures about its faster loading times.
As in every console generation, Sony and Microsoft are fighting a fierce battle for the buyers. Only recently Microsoft announced that they have bought ZeniMax, the parent company of Bethesda, which could secure a lot of exclusive titles for the Xbox. However, there are also some problems, especially with pre-orders.
Now we've got hard facts about the faster load times of the Xbox Series X and also more about the new Quick Resume feature.
Xbox Series X SSD = Faster Loading Times
Thanks to tech portal The Verge we finally have reliable figures about the faster loading times in various games. It is no longer news that the new consoles, both PS5 and Xbox Series X, will have SSD hard drives installed. It's also no big surprise that this results in faster loading times, a faster system start, and less waiting time overall. PC gamers will probably ask themselves now what is so great about it, SSDs have been the standard here for years, but for consoles, this is a big step forward. As the available figures for games like CoD: Warzone, Red Dead Redemption 2, Warframe, Destiny 2, etc. show, there are worlds between the old Xbox One X and the new Xbox Series X.
As you can easily see, the loading times have been more than halved in almost all tested games. Finally, no more endless loading screens or annoying reloading of assets. The new loading times are definitely something to be proud of and developers can be happy because this means that they can make their games even bigger and more complex.
Quick Resume Coming to Xbox Series X
Another interesting thing is the Quick Resume feature of the Xbox Series X. The new feature allows players to switch between games without losing progress or having to quit. For example, you can play an hour of Red Dead Redemption, then switch to Assassins Creed and then just pick up where you left off in Red Dead. Of course, this doesn't make sense for all games, especially in online ones like Warzone this is not possible for logical reasons, but for singleplayer games, this is a nice feature. Together with the SSD, this saves even more time, because in longer gaming sessions, when switching between games, you're not only saving loading time but also the way via the start menu.
