5. Mondragon Storm (BF1): What? You thought we weren't going to include at least one weapon from BF1? Be real. And yeah, we've chosen one of the best weapons from BF1. Plus, being semi-auto, it would be fairly well-balanced for BF2042. | © EA
4. SRR-61 (BF4): The lack of sniper variety in Battlefield 2042 was one of the most disappointing things to see on launch, so why not add in maybe the best snipers from franchise history? Seriously, the SSR-61 was iconic, and it would work well on these maps. | © EA
3. F2000 (BF4): The F2000 wasn't one of the most popular weapons, and you might be confused by this pick, but it was unique and interesting. And that's exactly what we need more of in BF2042: unconventional, weird, out-there weapons. | © EA:
2. L85 (BF4): This weapon fits into the heavy-AR sweet spot that's fairly absent right now besides the SCAR-H. Battlefield's map design lends itself to these weapons, though, so we need more of them. And why not pick one of the most fun ARs from BF4. It's also more distinct than any other M16. | © EA
1. AS-VAL (BF3): This weapon was peak Tacticool. And that's exactly what Battlefield has always been about. Plus, there's just absolutely nothing like this weapon in Battlefield 2042, and when we start getting smaller, the AS-VAL would be perfect. | © EA
Battlefield 2042 launched with very few weapons. Sure, we did get to see the usual classes; ARs, SMGs, Snipers and LMGs, but we only get a couple for each category. Which, frankly, is nowhere near enough in a game like Battlefield. We were disappointed, but Season 1 is coming, and so we started to ask ourselves what weapons we would most like to see them release in season 1?
