3. Navin Rao

• Place of Birth: India
• Class: Recon
• Specialist: Cyber Warfare Suite
• Trait: Trojan Network

Navin was wheelchair-bound growing up and loved the study of electronics. By some miracle, he was cured and then joined the Indian armed forces to put his love of electronics to good use. Unfortunately, he was part of a disastrous mission that caused heavy casualties and was dishonorably discharged from the military. He joined the no-pats some time afterward.

Navin is probably the worst operator in the game, he can basically activate a counter-UAV, but it just isn't very useful in a Battlefield game with so many other ways for the enemy to still acquire intel. It's also boring, but that doesn't factor into why he's last place on the list.

2. Wikus "Casper" Van Daele

• Place of Birth: South Africa
• Class: Recon
• Specialist: OV-P Recon Drone
• Trait: Movement Sensor

Casper has only a vague backstory, it sounds like he was just a sick sniper in South Africa before joining the no-pats. The ghillie suit talks for itself doesn't it?

Unfortunately, despite how cool he looks, Casper isn't amazing. The drone is more effort than it's worth for a game like Battlefield but the passive trait is pretty decent, it alerts you to approaching enemies with a ping (basically high alert). If you want to camp up and snipe then we can recommend Casper but he's not in the top-tier of BF2042 Specialists.

1. Ji-Soo Paik

• Place of Birth: South Korea
• Class: Recon
• Specialist: EMG-X Scanner
• Trait: Threat Perception

Ji-Soo Paik served the South Korean military as her grandfather did. She was apparently very athletic but was badly shaken when separated from her unit by a terrorist organization in New Guinea during an operation. From there she sought refuge on a No-Pat ship and has been fighting alongside the No-Pats ever since.

So why is she in first place on the list of best Recon specialists? Wallhacks. Literal wallhacks. That's her ability. They toned it down since the reveal trailer (that was very controversial), but she still has an outstandingly strong ability. Being able to detect exact enemy locations that easily is fantastic. Even if it comes at the cost of looking like a tool with a satellite strapped to your head.
