3rd-Person Game Modes Confirmed For Modern Warfare 2

In homage to the original Modern Warfare 2 from 2009, which was the only title in franchise history to have this, the upcoming MW2 will also feature 3rd-person game modes. Here's what we know so far about 3rd-person modes in MW2.

Some of our readers maybe slightly too young to remember the OG Modern Warfare 2 from 2009, but we're sure a great many of you consider it the greatest Call of Duty game ever made. It seemed to get so much right, and Call of Duty was probably experiencing the peak of it's "Golden Era".
One of the many things that the original Modern Warfare 2 introduced to the Call of Duty franchise was a 3rd-person game mode. It wasn't the most popular mode, but it was a refreshing way to play CoD, and it had its moments. And, we never saw it again in subsequent CoDs, until now.

Third-Person Game Modes Confirmed For Modern Warfare 2

3rd-Person game modes have been confirmed for Modern Warfare 2, in honor of the original MW2 from 2009, which was the only game in franchise history to support 3rd-person play. We won't get to play the 3rd-person modes during the beta, sadly, but we will get to try them on launch (October 28). The 3rd-person game modes will have their own playlist within the Modern Warfare 2 matchmaking system, and they're likely to include the core modes: Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, and Search and Destroy (sadly we probably won't get a 3rd-person option for the new game modes).

What do you think about Call of Duty in 3rd-person? Is that something you just don't like in your CoD games, or will you be trying it out when Modern Warfare 2 launches? We're pretty hyped for it, hell, I definitely want to see the new ledge-hanging mechanic in 3rd-person.

We're curious how these new gameplay features will work in 3rd-person...
