Vanguard Maps Dome — Dome

Starting with one that's a little silly, but great fun. Dome is just large enough to make SnD work, and there are just enough routes to keep things tense. Watch out for people lobbing termite and cooked grenades off the rip, though. | © Activision Blizzard

Vanguard Maps Bocage — Bocage

Now to the serious SnD maps. Bocage has been a real highlight of Vanguard, and we've loved it in almost every mode we've played it on, but it really shines in Search and Destroy because there are so many routes. The A-site and B-site also offer different types of play; the first is in an enclosed space and the second is more openly positioned along a sight line where snipers are usually trading shots. Vanguard Maps Red Star — Red Star

Red Star is unpopular for most of the community, but that's more because it's fundamentally not suited to game modes that require symmetry. But for something like SnD, this map is fantastic — it's atmospheric, it's diverse, and it's the perfect size. | © Activision Blizzard

Vanguard Maps Castle — Castle

Another remaster, but why not? World at War's map design was incredible. Castle is an absolute joy for Search, it's a masterclass in how to design maps that offer multiple routes through a space while maintaining one central area of play. This really is an impressive map. | © Activision Blizzard

Vanguard Maps Tuscan — Tuscan

Maybe I'm slightly swayed by just how beautiful the map looks, but it does have everything you would want to make Search and Destroy work. This was proven in the early days of Vanguard with our first big SnD comp. It was a casual game for $7,000 in the off-season, but Tuscan was a real highlight. Fun fact, this was the map Shiv got caught cheating on. Lol. | © Activision Blizzard
