We're right on the brink of fully moving to next-gen, but not yet. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 promises to keep the door open for gamers on older consoles, at least for one more year.
The hype train has begun for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and guess what? 2024's CoD is coming to PS4 and Xbox One. Yep, even though these consoles have been around for over ten years, Activision isn’t leaving anyone out of the action (yet).
Why Stick With Old Gen?
A lot of us are still rocking the older consoles. And Activision knows this, so they're making sure everyone can enjoy Black Ops 6 without needing the latest gear. From that perspective, at least, it does make sense to keep selling the game on these platforms because there are so many players still on old-gen.
But will people enjoy it? Having played Warzone in 2024 on PS4, I have doubts. The textures take 3-4 business days to load, and a consistent frame rate is just unrealistic. And what's even more galling is that the game is just as expensive as on the new consoles. But hey, at least old-gen players can still play.
For now, all we can do is wait for the big reveal on June 9, 2024. That’s when we’ll see all the cool new stuff Black Ops 6 has to offer during the Xbox Games Showcase. Activision's also throwing in a cross-gen bundle, which is perfect if you're thinking about upgrading soon.
So, for all the gamers holding on to their PS4s and Xbox Ones, Black Ops 6 has got you covered!
