Okay, this is the only pick on the list that I can see being controversial. While it frankly didn't work for most modes, District is one of the best Search and Destroy maps in CoD history. And for that alone, it deserves a place on this list. | © Activision Blizzard
This should require no explanation. Favela had it all; a vibrant theme, an original setting, and it worked well for almost every mode. The real genius behind Favela's design is that it simulated the hectic chaos of a favela, but in reality every nook and cranny was carefully designed to create a consistent flow of play. | © Activision Blizzard

Modern Warfare 2 is the talk of the town right now. But it got us thinking about the game's namesake, the OG Modern Warfare 2 from 2009. What a time to be alive, those were truly the best years in Call of Duty's long history. And one of the most defining features of Modern Warfare 2, and the original MW trilogy in general, are the maps. They were fantastic. But which were the very best Modern Warfare trilogy maps?
