The Honey Badger from CoD Ghost's is back in Warzone 2, only this time it's called the Chimera. This is a wonderful SMG/AR hybrid that sits nicely within the Warzone 2 meta. You can find the best attachment setup for the Chimera below.
The Chimera, or Honey Badger, was added to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 in Season 1: Reloaded. And it's awesome. It feels so comfortable to use, and is the perfect short-range AR to go alongside an LMG, or even a sniper.
After a buff in Season 2 (and then no nerfs in Season 4), the Chimera can now rival even the Lachmann Sub and Fennec for TTK in close-range, and between 13 m and 26 m the Chimera has the best TTK in the game.
Here's a guide to unlocking the Chimera, and you can find the best attachment setup for the weapon below.
- If you're looking for the meta, the Chimera is probably just beneath that level. Here are the other best weapons in Warzone 2.
Warzone 2: The Best Attachment Setup For The Chimera
Slot | Attachment | Attachment Tuning |
Muzzle | Bore 490 | Recoil Stabilization (+0.80 oz) / Gun Kick Control (+0.35 in) |
Barrel | 10" SA Phoenix | Recoil Steadiness (+0.50 lb) / Damage Range (+0.40 in) |
Laser | 1MW Quick Laser | Default |
Rear Grip | D37 Grip | Recoil Steadiness (+1.00 oz) / Sprint To Fire Speed (-0.45 in) |
Magazine | 45 Round Mag | Default |
We don't want to rely on the Chimera much for anything past 30 m, so unlike most ARs, aiming stability doesn't matter too much. But this also isn't an SMG, where we can afford to sacrifice all the recoil control as well as the aiming stability to get a fast weapon. Instead, we need to find something of a middle ground, with a combination of recoil control and fast handling.
The magazine simply needs to be picked because 30 rounds aren't enough for Warzone, and the optic is your choice.

Warzone 2: The Best Loadout For The Chimera – Secondary, Perks & Equipment
Secondary: RAPP H
The Chimera is basically a sniper support weapon, so we want to couple it with a sniper or an LMG. We find snipers are just kind of boring to use these days because they can't knock, so instead we've chosen our favorite new LMG: the RAPP H. The RAAL, Sakin and RPK are great choices as well, but we're having a lot of fun with insane rate of fire on the RAPP H right now.
- You can find a complete guide to the RAPP H here.
Perks (Base, Bonus & Ultimate)
We can pick our own perks again!
Base Perk | Overkill / Bomb Squad |
Bonus Perk | Resupply |
Ultimate Perk | High Alert |
There are lots of great choices now that we can pick our own perks again. For base perks we went with Overkill to get both weapons, and Bomb Squad so that we can eat a few nades. We've also gone for Resupply so that we can pretty much always have Smokes, and High Alert to stay aware of our surroundings (which is especially important when footstep audio is so bad).
Equipment (Lethal & Tactical)
Here is our favorite choice of equipment to take with the Chimera:
Lethal | Drill Charges |
Tactical | Smokes |
Drill Charges are just super fun, especially when we have Resupply and can use them whenever we want. But Smokes are actually pretty clutch these days. With the TTK being so low, just avoiding a gunfight altogether with Smoke grenades can often be the best option.
If you try it out and the Chimera doesn't feel like the one, we advise you to pick something from an even higher tier in our complete ranking of all Warzone 2 weapons.
