The FJX Imperium is a post-launch Sniper in MW2 and Warzone 2. It's basically just the Intervention from 2009's Modern Warfare 2. Here's how to unlock the weapon, and the best loadout to use for Warzone.
If you were to poll CoD fans on their favorite weapon of all time, many would say the Intervention from the original MW2 (2009); it just felt right. And so it's no wonder that Activision decided to remake the weapon all these years later for Season 3 of MW2 (2022). For legal purposes the Intervention is now called the FJX Imperium, but make no mistake, this is the same weapon (as you can tell from the picture above).
You can find a complete guide on how to unlock the FJX Imperium below, as well as a complete guide on the best FJX Imperium class. If you're looking to see how well the FJX Imperium compares to the competition, check out this tier list of the best weapons in Warzone 2.
How To Unlock The FJX Imperium
To unlock the FJX Imperium in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, you will need to spend at least 15 Battle Pass Tokens to unlock the necessary sectors. You could always just buy the BlackCell upgrade to the Battle Pass, which would allow you to instantly unlock the FJX Imperium, but grinding for 15 Battle Pass Tokens really won't take the average player very long.
This is one of the free unlocks in the Battle Pass, so you don't even need to pay for the premium pass to unlock this weapon, you just need the 15 tokens.
The Best Attachment Setup For The FJX Imperium In Warzone 2
Slot | Attachment | Tuning |
Barrel | Fahrenheit 29" | Aim Walking Speed (+0.50 lb) / Aim Down Sight Speed (-0.40 in) |
Laser | 1MW Quick Fire Laser (No Visible Laser) | Aim Walking Steadiness (+0.49 oz) / Aiming Idle Stability (+51.00 ft) |
Stock | FJX Kilo-Tac | Flinch Resistence (+3.90 oz) / Aiming Idle Stability (+2.40 in) |
Ammunition | .408 Explosive | Damage Range (+0.70 g) / Bullet Velocity (+9.00 gr) |
Carry Handle | Field-Wrapped Handle | Aim Walking Steadiness (+1.20 oz) / Aiming Idle Stability (+0.55 in) |
This is our current favorite build. The ammunition is needed to one-shot down, but it reduces our bullet velocity drastically, so we've tried to make up for it with a heavier barrel. We've also taken the carry handle and the laser to get faster aim-down-sight times.
We like the default optic but if you don't, consider dropping the rear grip or laser first.

The Best Loadout For The FJX Imperium: Secondary, Perks & Equipment
Secondary: Chimera (Honeybadger)
With a sniper you will, of course, need something for close-range. We think the best weapon for this sniper-support role is the Chimera right now. This is basically a hybrid AR/SMG.
- Here's a complete guide to the Chimera.
Perks (Base, Bonus & Ultimate)
Thank god we can pick perks again:
Base Perk | Bomb Squad, Overkill |
Bonus Perk | Fast Hands |
Ultimate Perk | High Alert |
Bomb Squad allows us to eat a few more nades. Overkill is necessary to take an AR with the FJX Imperium, and we do need to do that. Fast Hands will allow us to swap between the two weapons more quickly. And in the Ultimate Perk slot, we really like High Alert right now (especially with footstep audio in its current state).
Equipment (Lethal & Tactical)
For our equipment choice we're going a little less aggressive:
Lethal | Claymores |
Tactical | Smokes |
It's a sniper loadout, so we're going old-school with some Claymores. But because the sniper meta is back, we're also taking smokes for our own safety.
We hope you enjoy the FJX Imperium, but if not, check out another sniper we love.
Let's hope we get one-snipers in CoD 2023's iteration of Warzone:
