Modern Warfare 2 has been out since late October and Warzone 2.0 since mid-November. Except for the Season 1 and Season 1: Reloaded update, however, we haven't seen any new content yet and the last big update was over a month ago...

So it's no surprise that players are wondering when there will finally be new content. MW2 and Warzone 2.0 are already losing tons of players, so some content creators are wondering now if the game is already dying. To make matters worse, there were rumors that the release of Season 2 might be delayed. But now we finally have an official release date.

MW2 & Warzone 2.0 Season 2: Release Date Confirmed

Call of Duty's official Twitter account has confirmed that Season 2 will go live on February 15. Thus, the rumors about the delay of the launch have been confirmed.Previously, it was assumed that Warzone 2.0 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 would start on February 1 or 2 – this could be deduced from the expiration date of the current Battle Pass. So now we know that we have to wait two weeks longer.

Luckily, the same tweet also confirmed some other leaks. We will in fact get a new resurgence map for Warzone 2.0 in Season 2 and Modern Warfare 2 will get it's finished version of Ranked Play and a remake of the popular multiplayer map Castle.

Previously, individual seasons always ran for two months, with a big mid-season update after the first month. According to this plan, MW2 and Warzone 2.0 Season 2 should have been live by now. Instead, the game's first season will now last for three months – so let's hope that the new content can keep the game alive.

What do you think of the delayed Season 2 launch? Are you pissed off, or are you happy that so much new content is actually coming? The mood in the community is already tense and we desperately need new content, if Modern Warfare 2 is really going to last for two full years.
