Berlin is a big new map in Call of Duty: Vanguard, with plenty of hidey-holes to exploit. Here is our map guide, including a few tips and tricks to get you started...
Berlin is a multiplayer map that released with Call of Duty: Vanguard's launch on November 5. It was originally designed for 6v6 matches in standard Multiplayer Modes, though it is also available at multiple combat pacing's. Set at night-time, the map is contextualized as the push the reach the Reichstag building in the German capital of Berlin, during the final days of World War II.

This particular map is littered with wrecked tanks and destroyed units buildings, with the rubble filling the streets in a devastating and eerie way. When fighting your way through the night, look out for the glare of sniper rifles and listen for the boom of guns. A medium-sized map, Berlin is a highlight of Call of Duty: Vanguard, and certainly one to check out. Here is our Berlin Map Guide!
Berlin: The Map
Centered around a number of different warehouses, along with the battered ruins of buildings destroyed by tanks and bombings, Berlin is an intense crawl through ruined streets. Please keep in mind that the map's spawn points are not ubiquitous per player, and so you will find yourself spawning at different locations depending on where the tides of battle take you. All that being said, Berlin has a much larger sense of scale than many of the other maps in Call of Duty: Vanguard, though the fact that it's at night is a bit of a draw-back in our opinion. Berlin: Gameplay Overview & Tactics
We recommend more of an assault-class for Berlin. Go for an Assault Rifle-centred loadout, but make sure that you have plenty of lethals as there are many hidey-holes you may need to weed out. Berlin might be a larger map like Bocage or Red Star, but it is quite a fast-paced one. Due to the many ruined tanks dotted around the map, as well as the warehouse and what seems to be a train station, the map can be rather frantic, with opponents appearing from behind various vehicles unpredictably.
Fast reflexes are key in Berlin, but it should also be noted that longer-ranged loadouts can also work well. This is especially true for some of the more raised portions in the centre of the map, as well as a particular building that is blocked by a tank and can act as an opportune sniping position.
Berlin features very limited opportunities for environmental destruction, so you don't generally need to be concerned with enemies blasting their way through a wall and catching you by surprise. That being said, be weary of open areas due to those aforementioned sniping positions. Overall, this is a pretty solid addition to Call of Duty: Vanguard, and certainly a map we'll be returning to over the cause of the game's life cycle. We can see some really tense standoffs on this map, and the new Patrol mode works well, so there's certainly a lot of potential.
All Hardpoint Locations in Berlin
In Berlin, there are five separate hardpoint locations. This is the same as in pretty much all other Call of Duty: Vanguard Multiplayer maps, even other large ones. In fact, the game is so standardized that the two maps that came with Season One, Paradise and Radar, also both featured five hardpoint locations. In Berlin, though, they correspond to the following:
- Office
- Mailroom
- Lobby
- Train Yard
- Destroyed Hall
The interesting thing about Berlin's Hardpoint Locations are that they centre around the buildings in the south-west area of the map. They are significantly less spread out as they are in other maps, with the Northern and Eastern sections of the map – most of which consist of wider, open-air spaces – pretty much devoid of any Hardpoints. This is not such a problem, as it adds a tension that you wouldn't usually get from a larger map like Berlin.
The cool thing about Hardpoint as a game mode is that it allows you to explore and get to know the map a whole lot better. In Berlin this is less of the case, due to the small area in which they are positioned. These hardpoint do, of course, rotate in the order set-out above, though, and each subsequent death will position you with another opportunity to further explore and discover new areas of the map that might have otherwise been unfamiliar to you. Berlin is one of the better maps in Call of Duty: Vanguard, so you should definitely check it out!
