Bocage is the typically unpronounceable French name of a multiplayer map that released with Call of Duty: Vanguard's launch on November 5. It was originally designed for 6v6 matches in standard Multiplayer Modes, though it is also available at multiple combat pacing's. Set during the day, Bocage is contextualized as a Tank Battle gone wrong in Northern France, which resulted in violent infantry combat across a French Farmer's estate. Check out the map's description:

A tank battle in Northern France following the Allied invasion devolves into infantry combat across a farmer’s estate. This medium-sized map winds in and around the farmhouse, stables, and home with several tanks spilling over from the prior conflict.

There's a lot to love about Bocage, not in the least its pure beauty and brilliant map design. Featuring a number of barns and farmyard buildings, as well as an underground tunnel which connects the two main theatres of battle in this map. Perfect for the new game mode, Patrol, Bocage is an especially vibrant, medium-sized map that's certainly worthy of our attention. Here is our Bocage Map Guide!

Bocage: The Map

Bocage is a medium-sized map, centered around a number of more close-quarters farm buildings. There is a decent amount of verticality here, with the contrast between the underground passages, natural areas, and the buildings allowing for a decent amount of tactical play. There's a lot packed in here, and Bocage works super well for a ton of different game modes, not least including the brand new Patrol mode. Additionally, the map features a nice level of destructibility which, especially in the indoor sections of the map, allows you to be quite tactical, and discourages camping. Following is the Bocage Mini-Map...

Bocage Gameplay Overview & Tactics

Our recommendations really vary depending on both your personal style of play, the combat pacing you choose, and the mode you are playing on Bocage. This is something that really plays to the map's strengths, and is certainly an aspect that puts it above duds like Das Haus, as there is a solid amount of variability in the way you can play. The one thing that Bocage really nails, though, is that it doesn't provide many opportunities for camping or sniping, as the level of indoor destructibility is quite high, and the map is so varied that there really is nowhere to go if you want to camp and snipe from one vantage point.

Generally, we'd recommend utilizing the destructible terrain to your advantage and perhaps fighting with an Assault Rifle or SMG x Shotgun loadout of your choosing, as there is a large amount of both close-quarters indoor space and outdoor long-range space in the map. The combination of AR and Shotgun in particular allows for some adaptability, depending on the situation you find yourself in.

We would also note that Bocage offers a lot in terms of space to manoeuvre. Don't forget that your enemies will know this too, so make sure that you pick a loadout that gives you plenty of speed, but is versatile enough to help you survive an assault. Load up on those lethals, to throw through windows and doorways to clear enemies out from the inside of buildings before you dive-on-in!

All Hardpoint Locations in Bocage

In Bocage there are, as usual, five different hardpoint locations. They rotate amongst themselves every sixty seconds and you need to capture them. Are you up to the task? The above map points you to each of the five different Hardpoints, with each number corresponding to the following:

  1. Courtyard
  2. Tanks
  3. House
  4. Barn
  5. River

Hardpoint is a core Multiplayer Mode in Call of Duty: Vanguard that tasks two teams with fighting over specific Hardpoint "locations" that change locations on the map throughout the course of a match. It's a perfectly okay game mode, but nothing particularly special. That being said, though, it does give you a big leg up if you already know where each of the Hardpoints are and in what order they will rotate. That's why we're here!

Hardpoint is a pretty good mode to play in Bocage as it is quite an open map, with plenty of opportunity for strategy. To be honest, Bocage is especially fun along the river, with the River Hardpoint being a particularly tense long-ranged affair. It's a lot of fun and definitely something you should check out. In general, though, remember that the numbers on the map above show the order in which the Hardpoints move, and the locations. Have fun!
