Das Haus is a tiny little map in Call of Duty: Vanguard, but there's a fair amount talk about. Here is our map guide, including a few tips and tricks to get you started...

Das Haus is a small multiplayer map that released with Call of Duty: Vanguard's launch on November 5. It was originally designed for 6v6 matches in standard Multiplayer Modes, though it is also available at multiple combat pacing's. Set in a small mock-American house, the map is designed to simulate Nazi training centres wherein they, according to Call of Duty: Vanguard's lore, prepared to invade the United States.

This particular map is tiny, littered with rubble, and made up of a number of smaller room designed to somewhat simulate an American home. The idea was that the Germans were preparing for an invasion of the White House itself, so this is supposed to almost be a mock-up of the West Wing, though we doubt that this representation is particularly accurate. For starters, why would the Nazis think that the President would be all good with storing freaking car-tires in the White House? That makes no sense. Here is our Das Haus Map Guide!

Das Haus: The Map

Das Haus, which translates to "The House" in English (though that is, admittedly, bleedingly obvious), is a mock house made out of Pine Wood and located in a remote German forest. In fact, Das Haus simulates the West Wing of the White House and takes on the classic three-lane structure that Call of Duty made famous. We will admit that Das Haus is not a particular favourite of ours, seeing as it is tremendously tiny, claustrophobic, and offers little to no verticality or space for any kind of tactical play. On higher combat pacing especially, this is basically just a frantic mess of a map.

Das Haus: Gameplay Overview & Tactics

Das Haus is a chaotic little mess of a map. It does, to be fair, play fine, but it's small, dark, and cramped. There really isn't a huge amount to say here. There are no particular hidey holes, and even the stairs are blocked, so there is zero verticality at all. To be honest, you absolutely need to avoid anything that requires you to be at a distance, so no snipers or – to an extent – DMRs.

It is pretty perfect for levelling weapons, but is generally very uninspiring and not particularly fun to play. If you want to make the most out of it, though, we would recommend bringing a loadout which provides you with plenty of lethals, and perhaps a rocket launcher just to create the extra chaos that you require to at least make this a meme-able map. In Das Haus, they block off all opportunities for vertical play, so we also recommend taking an Assault Rifle or Sub-Machine Gun with you for fast-paced and chaotic encounters.

Indeed, we may have used the word "chaotic" quite a lot here. Das Haus is exactly that, though, and without at least a few minor things to help lift the experience – like creating even more chaos – this map is more likely to put you to sleep than to elicit any sort of excitement out of you. Think the chaos of Dome without any of the things that make that map, well... good.

All Hardpoint Locations in Das Haus

Das Haus features the usual number of hardpoint locations, so five. This really isn't the best map to play Hardpoint on, though, seeing as it is tiny and pretty bland. There really is nothing to add a little strategy to Das Haus, as it's mostly just about seeing your opponent before they see you. Seeing as this is the case, Hardpoint turns into a real mess in Das Haus. Here are the Hardpoint Locations:

  1. Grand Entrance
  2. Blue Room
  3. Dining Room
  4. Cross Hallway
  5. Red Room

For such a small map, it is kind of weird that they have clumped all of the Hardpoint Locations around that central area, this certainly seems to be a bit of an oversight. It really is a small and congested map, and the fact that you are cycling through these hardpoints is chaotic enough, there really is no need for them to be in such a condensed central area of the map. Who though that this was a good idea?

The most important thing to remember when playing Hardpoint on Das Haus is that due to the maps tiny size, you are always a sitting duck. You need to be extra careful to make sure that you have Armor Plates on and are using weapons that are good at short and medium range. Make sure to be careful of lethals, and try out other maps if you are having a hard time. Radar, for example, is excellent for Hardpoint!
