Double XP weekends are exactly what they sound like in Call of Duty, a whole weekend of free double XP for everyone. But they can be a bit confusing, because Call of Duty currently has multiple live titles at once (Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone), and there are different types of double XP that can be active (Weapon XP, Clan XP, Battle Pass XP, and Level XP).
Don't be put off though, the double XP weekends are a god-send, because weapons take a long time to level these days, and if you're chasing the meta, you need to level new weapons every few weeks. So in this article we're going to breakdown everything you need to know about 2XP weekends, and we'll start with the obvious question: when is the next Warzone & MW3 Double XP Weekend?
Call of Duty Warzone & MW3: When Is The Next Double XP Weekend?
Thanks to Sledgehammer Games' and Raven Software's Trello boards, we usually know the dates of the next Double XP events quite some time in advance. Here is a listing of the future events:

What Time Will The Double XP Weekend Start?
Double XP Weekends usually start on Wednesday or Thursday for PlayStation users and Friday for everyone else, but always at the same time of day.

Sometimes the Double XP Events also start at the same time and date for everyone, and we expect this to happen more regularly after Microsoft acquired Activision.
How Often Do We Get Double XP Events in Call of Duty?
We get Double XP Weekends every 4-6 weeks, but we also get them when they want to celebrate a random event or get people hyped before a big announcement or launch. We can't predict exactly when they will happen with that time frame, but you never usually have to wait longer than 6 weeks for another Double XP event.
If you really want to get your grind on in-between Double XP weekends, then remember you can unlock Double XP tokens throughthe Battle Pass that can be popped whenever you want. But you will have to pay $10 for the BP, so judge for yourself whetherthis Season's Battle Pass is worth it.
Where Does The Double XP Apply?
Double XP weekends apply to both the live game (currently Modern Warfare 3) and Warzone, and you can gain 2XP for all, some or one of these types: Weapon XP, Clan XP, Battle Pass, and Level XP. Now that was the good news you were hoping for, wasn't it? Yep, even if you only go for the free-to-play Warzone, and you're only interested in Weapon XP, you get everything you want from a Double XP Weekend.
We absolutely cannot recommend enough that you take advantage of these 2XP events to max out your weapons or grind the last few battle pass tiers.
