The M4 is the grandfather of Warzone AR's and dates back to MW's launch in 2019. But it still chops up, especially with the best attachment setup.
The M4A1 is one of the absolute OG weapons in Warzone. When Warzone launched, it was one of the most powerful weapons in the game. And luckily, since then, it has managed to avoid pretty much all nerfs, so it still remains relevant. Yep, it's definitely not a top 3 weapon anymore, but if you're looking for a versatile, easy-to-play long-range assault rifle, the M4A1 should still serve you well. If you want to get a rundown on the best assault rifles in Warzone right now, we have a complete ranking of the 10 best ARs in Warzone.
The Best M4A1 Attachment Setup
The M4A1 has always been known for having very balanced stats. It doesn't have the best damage or rate of fire, but it doesn't have a lot of recoil either, and it's extremely accurate, even at long range. It's a very good all-rounder for players who are just getting into Warzone or who don't want to be constantly chasing the latest meta.
Attachment Slot | Attachment |
Muzzle | Monolithic Suppressor |
Barrel | Stock M16 Grenadier |
Optic | VLK 3.0x Optic |
Underbarrel | Commando Foregrip |
Magazine | 60 Round Mags |
This setup is pretty standard for the old Modern Warfare assault rifles. The silencer not only hides us on the minimap when firing, but also increases our range. In fact, you could go for even more range, but we decided on a middle ground build between range and mobility. In order to be able to fully utilize this puppy, the good old VLK is back – definitely the best optic in Modern Warfare. While, the Commando Foregrip helps us a bit with recoil control, and the 60-round magazine is the largest we have to choose from.
Best Secondary Weapon for the M4A1
The best secondary weapon in Warzone is by far the MP40:
With this setup, you have a fantastic secondary weapon that compliments any long range build. We've broken down the entire setup in more detail in our MP40 Warzone Guide. But if you are nostalgic and absolutely want to play a pure Modern Warfare loadout in Warzone, then we recommend the MP7 as a secondary weapon, which, like the M4A1, still performs great even after 2 years. That's it for our best M4A1 loadout for Warzone. Give it a try, we guarantee that the old weapon can still hold its own very well.
