Superheroes based on insects? Always works! Blue Beetle is DC's newest addition and will soon hit the big screen. Here's everything you need to know about that, including release date, trailer, the cast, and even more!
Beetles or spiders in my home? No thanks. Having them save the world instead seems like a way better way for them to spend their time than to make my life harder by preventing me from moving freely through my apartment.
Cue: Jaime Reyes, DC's newest superhero Blue Beetle to stand in line with Superman, Batman and The Flash – once he figures out the whole world-saving business, of course. Let's take a closer look!
Blue Beetle | Release Date
Thank the movie Gods that Blue Beetle didn't fall victim to the the DC Armageddon where countless releases were scrapped. Blue Beetle will hit theaters on August 18, 2023. Not only is it special because it survived the great DC crisis, there's even more.
Blue Beetle even managed to steer clear of Hollywood's current arch-nemesis: the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike. No delays to report for once!
More good news: Blue Beetle was filmed for IMAX, which makes the whole deal even more immersive than your standard movie. Not only do sequences fill the whole screen, they also give the most vivid, brightest and clearest images for the best experience.
The newest trailer already looks awesome on YouTube, just imagine that in theaters!

Blue Beetle | Plot
Don't worry – no spoilers here. Except for one, I guess: Jaime Reyes becomes a superhero and goes by Blue Beetle. That's as good as any occupation for a recent college graduate unsure of what to do in his life, right?
When Jaime returns home from college, trying to figure out what to do after studying, the choice is kind of taken from him when the Scarab, an "ancient relic of alien biotechnology" chooses him to be its host. Courtesy of the Scarab, Jaime gets an incredible suit of armor and with it, incredible powers.
And to top it all of: the villain and love interest are related – I won't tell you more, though, sorry!
But in all honesty: it's like Spider-Man and Ironman had a secret love child, and I'm here for it!
