"Live life, breathe air, somehow we're gonna get there?" Doesn't look like it. The iCarly Reboot on Paramount+ was widely popular for more reasons than nostalgia, but new and old fans alike have to swallow a bitter pill now: it's canceled.
Watching iCarly on Nickelodeon was one of those universal experiences in many people's childhoods. Dan Schneider was at the height of his success with huge kids shows like Victorious, Drake & Josh and, obviously, iCarly. As the original audience grew up, so did the characters and in 2021, they got reunited with the reboot that followed Carly, Freddy & friends in their young adult lives.
After the season 3 finale, a spokesperson told People that "iCarly will not be returning for a fourth season on Paramount+" and to make matters worse, Laci Mosley (Harper on the show) confirmed the sad news on Twitter in response to a fan.

iCarly Ends With A Major Cliffhanger | Who's Carly's Mom?
"It's canceled babes." Laci, there has to be a more gentle way to put that than ripping fans' hearts to shreds, right? While the reboot did deliver on the fan service front with Carly and Freddie finally getting together, there was no need to end it on a cliffhanger like that.
In the last episode of season 3 – and last episode, period – they picked up on a loose thread that's been lowkey haunting the iCarly narrative even back in prehistoric Nickelodeon times: who is Carly's and Spencer's mother?
In the show's finale, she's there. Carly looks off-camera, sees her mom, and that's it – the audience doesn't see her, we don't get to know who she is and just have to live with that unresolved mystery now.
The show has been hinting on something more going on with the relationship between Carly, Spencer and their mother. Carly's insecure about her relationship with Freddie because she's scared she'll "do the same thing to Freddie that Mom did to [her and Spencer]". Apparently, we won't find out what exactly is up with that.
iCarly fans have been wondering what's up with their mother from the very beginning back in 2007. It's never been explained why she wasn't in the picture or part of her children's lives, while the absence of their father has been not only explored thoroughly, but was also an integral part of the original's finale.
That was well executed back then. Their father got back, Carly went to live with him, roll credits – that's how you end a show. Not with a cliffhanger concerning the other absent parent and not even showing their face, Paramount!
Fans have been heartbroken about the news, slowly starting to spread "#saveicarly" on Twitter in an attempt to build up a Warrior Nun-esque campaign to save the beloved show. As for now, that's it for iCarly, though.
