IShowSpeed almost ends up in hospital once again after attempting the Elephant Toothpaste experiment in his bedroom.
IShowSpeed truly lives up to his name, as he just won't slow down on creating all kinds of crazy content. This time, the young YouTube streamer was trying a famous science experiment in his bedroom, which went terribly wrong.
The experiment in question is called the Elephant Toothpaste challenge. It involves mixing concentrated hydrogen peroxide with dish soap and a catalyst, usually potassium iodide or yeast, to create a rapid exothermic reaction. When the mixture reacts, it produces a large foamy eruption resembling toothpaste being squeezed from a giant tube, hence the name.
The challenge has become popular on social media for its visually dramatic results. However, it can be dangerous due to the chemicals and heat involved and should only be conducted under proper supervision. Speed obviously didn't do so, and also did it under the worst conditions possible.
IShowSpeed Almost Ends Up In Hospital After Elephant Toothpaste Experiment
While the experiment surely looks spectacular, there are multiple ways it can go wrong – Speed experienced one of them. Mixing chemicals like that can lead to gases being set free which can lead to medical emergencies when inhaled.
As Speed conducted his experiment in his bedroom, that's exactly what happened. With no fresh air to lessen the effect of the gases, he quickly had difficulty breathing. He and his cameraman Slipz had to leave the room as a consequence.

When Speed returned, it didn't take a medical professional to see that something was seriously wrong.

Obviously, fans were quite concerned for Speed after the experiment went wrong. He's had enough medical issues this year as is – you can read up on that here.
Slipz kept the community updated though and shared that Speed received immediate medical attention when he couldn't breathe, stating he was given oxygen by firefighters in the live chat.
Just a little while later, Slipz took to Twitter again to calm everyone down and said that Speed was okay.
Slipz has officially confirmed that Speed is now okay!

We sure hope he's fine again! Consider that a cautionary tale: don't mix chemicals in your bedrooms.
