Wednesday season 2 is highly anticipated, so any news regarding the coming season is welcome.

Wednesday has been one of Netflix's most successful releases recently, with its dark humor and horror elements. The show pretty much launched the career of Jenna Ortega, who recently made a welcome announcement regarding Wednesday season 2.

The show follows Wednesday Addams, a sadistic teenage girl with sociopathic tendencies, as she struggles her way through her typical high school life, including werewolves, vampires and other monsters. You know, the usual.

During the first season, our unlikely protagonist is met with multiple potential love interests, a concept that was well-used in the show, but was still kind of odd, considering how Wednesday usually hates everything not related to torture, murder etc.

If you thought the same, you will be glad to hear, that they apparently plan to ditch any focus on love for Wednesday season 2.

Wednesday Season 2: Jenna Ortega Teases Major Changes

During an Actors & Actors video, produced by Variety, the young actress started talking about Wednesday season 2, revealing that they are “ditching any romantic love interest for Wednesday”.

This decision is probably part of their overall plans to make the show a little darker.

We’ve decided we want to lean into the horror aspect of the show a little bit more. Because it is so lighthearted, and a show like this with vampires and werewolves and superpowers, you don’t want to take yourself too seriously.

Ortega previously mentioned how she wasn't too happy about the direction Wednesday's character was taking in season 1, even going so far as to change lines, so she was probably pushing real hard for these changes.

Sometimes you gotta be careful with changes to the direction of a show or movie (I don't think that will be the case with Wednesday):
