Ever since Netflix made the announcement for their live-action adaptation of the popular One Piece Anime, people have been uncertain whether to get hyped for the show, or not. Now we finally got a first look at the Straw Hats in action with Netflix dropping an official Teaser, and it looks surprisingly good.

For those of you that don't know, One Piece is a Japanese manga and anime franchise created by Eiichiro Oda. It follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and his diverse crew of pirates as they search for the ultimate treasure, the One Piece, to become Pirate King.

One Piece Live Action Show: Netflix Release Date Revealed

The One Piece adaptation, starring Iñaki Godoy (Monkey D. Luffy), Mackenyu (Roronoa Zoro), Emily Rudd (Nami), Jacob Romero Gibson (Usopp) and Taz Skylar (Sanji), is now closer than ever, with Netflix posting the first teaser for the show, revealing the release date in the process.

To be honest, the trailer looks pretty promising, especially the world design and characters. Sure, the dialogue is a little goofy and especially the Gum-Gum-Pistol looked pretty bad, but besides that the action looks pretty good! Even looking at the comments, you can see, that people are pretty excited about this one, despite all the initial critique.

The creator of One Piece, Eiichiro Oda, serves as executive producer for the show, and you can see that in attention to detail in this teaser. Oda's role in the show will hopefully make the adaptation as accurate to the original vision as possible, but a bit of skepticism is still advised, as this is still an anime adaptation after all.The teaser also revealed the release date for the show being August 31. With this, fans won't have to wait much longer to give the final verdict on whether the show is good or bad.
