Good job scalpers. You did it! Because of safety concerns, Pokémon fans will not be able to receive the special edition Pikachu card anymore that was initially given out with admission to the exhibit.
It wasn't long ago where a video of grown-ass men stormed the gift shop of the van Gogh museum in Amsterdam. The clip went viral showing off how insane scalpers and re-sellers go.
Unfortunately, this has led so safety concerns for regular museum goers and now one of the cool extras has been removed from the admission tickets.
Unique Van Gogh Pokémon Cards Removed From Museum
For those who purchased a ticket to the museum, an extra little tidbit was included in their admission. An insanely cool Pikachu Pokémon card in the style of van Gogh, with him wearing a cute gray hat.
Now, the unique Pokémon card has been removed from the museum completely, with scalpers and re-sellers being far too aggressive, causing safety concerns for others.
In an update, the museum wrote on the FAQ for the exhibit:
The Van Gogh Museum and The Pokémon Company International take the safety and security of visitors and staff very seriously. Recently, a small group of individuals has created an undesirable situation that has led us to take the difficult decision to remove the Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat promo card from the museum.
TLDR: Because some people couldn't contain themselves and decided to act like toddlers, the card will not be available at the museum against.
Look at these grown-babies....
So now, those who do want to get their hands on this unique Pokémon card will have to get it at the Pokémon Center online shop once it's available for purchase there. They also explained that early 2024 the cards can be re-introduced at participating retailers in the Netherlands.
This is a pretty sad situation, but for the safety of those who just want to enjoy the museum it's probably best, but sad to see how such a small minority of annoying people ruined something fun for everyone, eh?
