Shazam 2, a.k.a. Fury of the Gods has been met with a less than warm welcome, becoming one of the worst DCEU movies of all time.
DC hasn't necessarily been well known for having the best track record regarding their movie releases. Sure there are some good movies adapting stories of DC Comics, but looking at the Justice League movie, the Superman movies etc. it has simply been a shitshow. Color us surprised, then, that Shazam! Fury of the Gods has managed to become the worst performing DCEU film of all time! That's impressive.
Why Shazam! Fury of the Gods Became The DCEU's Lowest Grossing Movie
Seeing Zachary Lewis reprising his role as the titular hero was pretty cool, but to be honest, the movie was pretty disappointing. We're not the only ones who though that way, as Shazam! Fury of the Gods only earned $133.4 million worldwide, making it the lowest-grossing film in DCEU history.
The villains especially were underwhelming. After all the incredibly captivating villains we were able to enjoy over the years, DC decided to provide us with badly written, under powered & uncool antagonists.
Black Adam, one of the most iconic DC villains, had his standalone movie a few months before the release of Shazam and still the directors didn't think of connecting the movies in any way, shape, or form.

This just goes to show how badly DCEU need James Gunn's 10-year plan! Hopefully it won't be a letdown.
If you're a fan of Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn, this one might be bad news for you:
