Imagine having the cops called on you because your neighbors heard quote on quote "tortured screaming". Yeah, apparently that happened to an editor of Saw X recently...
Even a long-standing film franchise like Saw isn't immune to hiccups in the creation process.
The newest movie, Saw X, was recently released in theaters and with the release, the movie's director Kevin Greutert revealed a funny story from the movie's production to NME. At least the story was funny to him. It was actually an editor, Steve Forn, who was caught up in a predicament with the cops.
Well, I'm sure it's funny in hindsight, at least.
Saw X: Neighbors Called Cops On Editor
According to the interview with NME, while First Assistant Editor Steve Forn was working on one of the many gruesome scenes in Saw X, the office's neighbors happened to hear some horrifying screams. They didn't know that Steve Forn was working on a horror movie edit, though.
So, naturally, when they heard what was described as "tortured" screams, they called the cops. While Steve Forn was working on the "eye vacuum trap" scene, the police showed up at his office and told him, "The neighbors [have been] calling and saying someone’s being tortured to death in here."
Luckily, the editor was able to quickly deescalate the situation, and explained "actually, I’m just working on a movie… You can come in and see it if you want?", which cleared up the entire situation.
The Saw franchise is known for Its gruesome and gory content, but there must be some scenes in this movie that take the cake. Perhaps the producers have upped their game?
If you want to check out the scene for yourself, take a look at the "eye vacuum trap" here:
If you want to watch the movie at home, you can pre-order Saw X on Prime Video . Just make sure that your sound isn't turned up high. Wouldn't want your neighbors to call the police on you.
And to the editor, we recommend headphones.
