Do we need to ask the same thing every year? Yes. Yes, we do. So let's check out what speaks for and against FIFA 22 being the best of all time.
Every new FIFA produces the same reaction; when browsing social media, you're left with the feeling that it's pure trash, absolutely unplayable. But, and again this is true every year, the game has sold like wildfire. Obviously, there are a few points that no one likes, but this comes with the territory. So, is the new game awesome or not? Is everyone right or nobody? And is Mbappé or Messi the best player in FIFA 22?
FIFA 22 - Success Or Failure?
It is of course difficult to give a general answer - after all, the game has only been out for a month. The most important mode is and remains Ultimate Team and in the short time since release, there have been a handful of events and few title updates. But what else characterizes FUT in FIFA 22?
FIFA 22 Ultimate Team gameplay
This is probably the point where many content creators agree: The gameplay of FIFA 22 is great and is the best of the past few years.
Sure, we all know that finesse shots were broken, and the keepers were too good at launch. But that has since been adjusted and, otherwise, FIFA 22 feels pretty fresh and different from its predecessors - at least if you can play on next-gen consoles.
Some pro players don't like what the gameplay will do for the competitive scene, though as this post in the FIFA subreddit shows, that opinion wasn't shared by the community.
FIFA 22: The Problem With The Transfer Market
While the transfer sums in real life are going into the stratosphere, the player market in FIFA 22 is downright plummeting. Seriously, the normal gold cards, which are still worth something a month after their official release, are crazy cheap right now.
When was the last time you got the classic OP players like Pogba, Mendy or Dembélé for so few coins? Does this have something to do with the fact that EA actually increased the pack probabilities for FIFA 22 a bit? Probably. But new events, as well as blatant SBCs around Ronaldo, have not yet solved the problem.
FIFA 22: Bugs & Glitches
I don't think I have to tell any FIFA fan that the EA servers are pathetic, especially during the Weekend League. Every year, we have something to be upset about in this department. And like clockwork, we've had to deal with catastrophic lags and delays. But FIFA 22 is particularly poor, especially for PS4 players who are struggling with massive lags in the menu.
But that's not all. Trust me when I say: Be sure to check out Reddit or Twitter for funny FIFA bugs or fails. From messed-up free-kick variants, completely new corner kick tactics, and players who simply take off during the game, everything that could go wrong has. Here, we've prepared a small example for you:
Our conclusion: Whether FIFA 22 is the best of all time depends on what modes you play. As someone who enjoys the gameplay, you will probably celebrate it, as a trader in the transfer market, you will probably not. At the moment, the game is solid - but let's wait and see if the next patch makes things better or worse. FIFA 21 style. Ultimately, you shouldn't let our or other opinions shade your own. Get out there and enjoy it.
