We tell you all about the Road to the Final (RTTF) cards in FIFA 22. This event has become a tradition in FIFA Ultimate Team. The RTTF event in FIFA 21 brought some OP cards. We expect the same in FIFA 22.
The RTTF cards are dynamic, which means they can improve as the season progresses. Of course, we'll tell you how it all works. We will update this article whenever new RTTF players are released or get their upgrades.
What is RTTF in FIFA 22?
RTTF is the Road to the Final event in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team. The dynamic cards related to the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League will upgrade automatically after certain requirements are met. We expect the RTTF event to work the same as in previous years.
In FIFA 21, we had three teams that appeared until the knockout stage of the European competitions, so you can look forward to insanely good players like Messi, Lewandowski, Salah and Co. Is There A RTTF Team 2 In FIFA 22?
The FIFA 22 Road to the Final (RTTF) event started on Friday, February 18 with Team 1. On February 20, we got a Mini Release.

Mini Release With Depay, Thiago And Walker
On the weekend of March 26th and 27th, Memphis Depay, Thiago, Kyle Walker, Lucas Hernandez and Ainsley Maitland-Niles came in a Mini Release and expand the RTTF lineup. This is important because they will have their first matches in the quarterfinals and therefore still can get the 1st knockout game win upgrade.
Mini Release With Ramsey And Oxlade-Chamberlain
After the Quarterfinals, Aaron Ramsey (Rangers) and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Liverpool) joined the RTTF squad via SBCs on April 23rd and 24th.
How Do RTTF Upgrades Work In FIFA 22?
As in previous years, the cards will receive dynamic upgrades. The upgrades relate to the reallife results of the Champions, Europa and Conference Leagues. The popular Conference League (sarcasm) will be there for the first time with RTTF cards.
Cards can get five upgrades if they manage to fulfill these requirements:
- First knockout game win after campaign launch
- Qualifying for the quarterfinals
- Qualifying for the semifinals
- Qualifying for the final
- Winning the tournament
When Will RTTF Cards Be Upgraded?
"Any Road to the Final item upgrades can take up to a few days to update in-game", says EA. Wow... keep your secrets, then.

What is there to say besides that the best time of FIFA 22 has finally come to an end as Presnel Kimpembe really is part of the RTTF event. After all, the Frenchman had no Special Card in FIFA 22 prior to this day. Well, let's stay positive.
Current Ratings And Players Who Can Get An Upgrade
In the Europa League, there was a dream final: Rangers against Eintracht. It's just a shame that EA didn't give Frankfurt a RTTF. After all, Kevin Trapp got a MOTM for his important saves. Rangers gave everything – in the end, Eintracht won after penalties.
The Conference League also had a nice duel in the final, with Rome against Feyenoord. Thanks to the Roma triumph, Maitland-Niles and Smalling get a +2 upgrade.
Real Madrid has won the "big ears" for the 14th time. Same here: Congratulations and unbelievable that some Real stars have f*cking five CL titles.

FIFA 22 RTTF: Champions-, Europa- & Conference League Matches And Results
There has been draw drama – just how we like it! The CL draw in the round of 16 had to be repeated because the officials and the software made a mistake. For us gamers, this is relevant because teams like Bayern Munich now have a much easier task.
Boy, this did not age well.
