Football and the World Cup especially creates some incredible and unique stories over and over again. Exactly this will now be the focus of EA's next FUT event in FIFA 23. We'll show you all the new special cards you can use to improve your squad.
The World Cup in Qatar is fully in action, and although we all shouldn't be supporting this particular tournament, we have to admit that there's still that kind of excitement and tension... Obviously, we all want our national teams to perform well and maybe even bring home the legendary golden trophy.
You're still searching for some Christmas gifts? Here's a great idea!
World Cup Stories Explained
When we think about the World Cup, we all have that one moment, that one story which instantly pops into our heads. For me, it's definitely the final 2014. July 13, Maracaña Stadium in Rio, 113th minute, the ball goes out to Schürrle, he crosses it to Götze, and then it's just pure magic...
For our German colleagues, a real World Cup Hero was born that night! But there are a lot more, actually, countless stories of World Cup Icons, and exactly that's what this World Cup Stories Promo is for.
EA Sports will reward teams and players with special cards for creating highlight moments in the World Cup, that have the potential to become iconic and might end up being the stuff we'll tell our grandkids about. I mean, it's probably the last World Cup for both of the G.O.A.T.s CR7 and Messi. This alone is a story worth telling.
FIFA 23 World Cup Stories – Release Date And Content
The promo launched on December 2, at 6PM UK time (12AM CST) and will stay in the game until December 9 – So one week exactly. During this event we will see a full team of special cards plus some Objectives and Squad Building Challenges. On top of that, EA Sports delivered another mini-release on December 4.
World Cup Stories – All Players
When selecting the World Cup Stories team, EA Sport had to somehow manage the balancing act of players who really made history and who can also be used well in FUT. Well... looking at some players, at least we have no idea how they ended up in this promo. But maybe that's our problem, check out the full squad list:
