Fortnite offers a wide selection of weaponry to shoot, explode, and build your way to victory, with assault rifles sitting at top of many lists as the most consistent, reliable guns.
ARs are often versatile weapons that exceed at mid-range combat, don't have the killing power of long-ranged snipers, and can lose to SMGs and shotguns if used up close, but generally speaking, you should always try to have at least one in your inventory to avoid being caught lacking as the kids say.

What Is The Best Assault Rifle In Fortnite?
There are a total of three assault rifles available in the Chapter 3, Season 4 weapon pool. Don't let the small number of ARs fool you. They are all completely different, so there really is something for everyone.
Similar to our list of the best shotguns in Fortnite, we're going to use the stats based on the epic version of all of these assault rifles. So let's finally get started.
Ranger Assault Rifle
A fan favorite of Fortnite fanPopular with Fortnite fans, the Ranger AR is a robust all-round weapon. It deals quite a lot of damage, but has no scope and has a damage falloff from 50 meters.
It has a slow fire rate, so you better make those shots count, because every single one hits like a truck at proper distance. Furthermore, it boasts a 1.5x headshot multiplier, you could theoretically knock someone down before they even have a chance to react. It also has a very decent reload time of 2.3 seconds, making it exceptional in long, drawn-out firefights.
Hammer Assault Rifle
The Hammer AR is a fairly reliable and popular assault rifle in Fortnite, even though it's only been in the game since last season. It has a shorter effective range than the Ranger AR, but has a better rate of fire and faster reload speed.
Despite doing less damage than the ranger per bullet (27-35) it has a more controllable recoil pattern. If you want an AR for close combat, this is without a doubt your best bet.
EvoChrome Burst Rifle
The EvoChrom Burst Rifle debuted this season. It is a fully automatic weapon that fires in a burst. As players damage enemies or wildlife, the EvoChrome Rifle can evolve to the next rarity level when the player reaches the threshold. Each advancement improves the weapon's stats and, to a certain extent, increases the number of shots in each shootout.
It actually sounds pretty cool, but this assault rifle does relatively the least damage of the 3 AR's and also has the longest reload time. However, if you are very accurate, then the EvoChrome Rifle is your weapon!
