The live event is over and the world of Fortnite is once again switching up with the release of Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 3 bringing the good vibes to the island.

Gone is the war that saw battle lines drawn on the Season 2 map and in its place, a colourful cast of characters is joining the fray including Darth Vader, Indiana Jones, and many of the iconic Fortnite crew.

There is plenty to chew over, so let's get right into it.

There are some pretty major map changes in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 with many parts of the island going into 24/7 party mode.

The west of the map has seen a growth of colourful purple trees and fauna, and a huge Cuddle Team Leader (the big pink bear) rollercoaster has sprung up. It is definitely a vibe and with summer in full swing, it's clear that this season is all about kicking back and having some fun.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 - Battle Pass

There is also a brand new battle pass for players to grind with Chapter 3 Season 3 has some very famous faces in its roster of characters. Darth Vader is here, and so are his Storm Troopers, there is also the great stetson wearing explorer Indiana Jones making his debut. A perfect tie-in for the soon-to-be-released Indiana Jones 4.

Fortnite Chapter 3 - New Gameplay Features

On the gameplay front, there aren't as many changes as we have become accustomed to with recent seasons seeing the introduction of mantling and sprinting and the No Build mode.

From what we know so far, Season 3 has seen the introduction of fuel to the returning Ballers. All Ballers will start with max fuel but will find that it can run out in 30 seconds if used continuously. Players can not refuel the Ballers, so once it's done, it's done. Wolves and Boars also return.

And speaking of No Build mode, that remains in the game with players able to complete challenges in either mode.

The Battle Bus has also become the heart and soul of the party with some cool cats spray painting it along with several other locations on the island.

There are also several new items (thanks iFireMonkey) including a new Superstorm Item, Saddler weapon, and Grapple Gloves.

We are still learning more about Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2, we will continue to update this page as we discover everything new in the season.

Storm Sickness

A new mechanic introduced in Season 3 is Storm Sickness. Essentially, players will accumulate Storm Sickness the longer they spend in the storm. As your sickness increases the Storm's damage dealing effects compound.

From now on, taking the long path to get in the circle and out of the Storm's way will be punished severely meaning you will have to rotate - and rotate quick - if you want to get those Victory Royales.

Reality Tree

The east of the map has seen the Reality Tree sprout bringing with it a brand new biome for players to explore. Bounce on Mushrooms, discover trees of people, and swim beneath its waterfalls. Players can also find loot-laden caverns and shoot up into the air from geysers.

The Reality Tree is also sprouting Reality Seed Pods. Players can plant these to grow a Reality Sapling. This Sapling will be in the same place match-to-match offering up loot. Keep weeding the Sapling and it will bear better and better loot until eventually offering up Mythic items.
