If you want to know if you can play Armored Core 6 on your Steam Deck, you are in the right place. We will tell you if FromSoftware's new release can be played on the PC-handheld from Valve.
Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon is the next big title from FromSoftware and with the release in late August getting closer, players want to know if they can take the upcoming mecha-combat game with them on the go. And what would be better to do so than the Steam Deck?
For those who don't know; the Steam Deck is basically a portable PC developed by Valve and still the most popular option on the handheld PC gaming market. Unfortunately, not every game released on Steam runs smoothly on the handheld – or is released on it at all.
Will Armored Core 6 Be Playable On Steam Deck?
The game director, Masaru Yamamura, and producer Yasunori Ogura answered this question in an interview with digitaltrends. The answer is yes, it will. After the success Elden Ring had on the Steam Deck, FromSoft wants Armored Core 6 to run on it as well.
So it is fully supported for Steam Deck… we just want to reassure players that it will be fully supported.
Although there is no official approval from Valve yet, it is likely that AC6 will run on the Steam Deck. All of FromSoft's previous releases are approved by Valve with only the Dark Souls Remaster being labeled “playable” and not “fully supported”.
While Elden Ring now runs well on PC, it still struggles with some issues on Steam Deck one year after release. It is safe to say that the chances of a good Armored Core 6 version on Steam Deck with release in August 2023 aren't guaranteed. It is possible that the game won't be performing on the highest of frame rates, even with the graphic settings on the lowest level.
